Introduction

The 2013 Florida Gators men’s basketball team will represent the University of Florida in the sport of basketball during the 2012–13 NCAA Division I college Basketball season The Gators will compete in the Eastern Conference (SEC). They will be led by Head Coach Billy Donovan and will play their home games at the O’Connell Center on the university’s Gainesville, Florida campus.

The Gators finished the previous season with a 26–11 record (11–7 in SEC play) and advanced to the NCAA tournament Sweet Sixteen where they lost to Louisville. They also lost to Marquette in the third place game of the National Invitation Tournament

The Guards

Guards
The guards are looking to be a strong point for the Gators this season. The starting lineup will most likely be Mike Rosario, Kenny Boynton, and Scottie Wilbekin. All three of these players are exceptional shooters and should give opposing defenses fits all season long While shooting will be their main contribution, all three are also more than capable of putting the ball on the floor and getting to the basket.

additionally, the Gators have two very talented freshmen in Michael Frazier and Dillon Graham who will provide quality minutes off the bench. Frazier is an exceptional shooter who can really stretch the defense, while Graham is more of a traditional guard who does a little bit of everything well.

The biggest question mark for this group will be how they handle defending opposing guards. All three of the starters are on the smaller side and could have some trouble against some of the bigger, stronger backcourts in the SEC. However, if they can play smart defense and use their quickness to their advantage, they should be just fine.

The Florida Gators have a new roster for the 2013 season, and here are the forwards.

The Centers

The Centers on the 2013 Florida Gators basketball Roster are:

The Bench

The Florida Gators bench is one of the youngest and most inexperienced in recent memory. Only two players, sophomore Michael Frazier and junior Casey Prather, have significant playing experience. The other eight players on the roster are either freshmen or sophomores who have yet to establish themselves.

This lack of experience could be a problem for the Gators, who will be relying on their bench to provide some scoring punch. They will also need to be able to defend and rebound against some of the best teams in the country.

The bench will need to step up if the Gators are going to have any chance of competing for a national title this season.
