Who Plays In The Nfl Today?
It’s NFL Sunday and there are plenty of games to choose from! Who’s playing in the NFL today? Check out this blog post for a full list of today’s matchups.
Introduction
In the National Football League (NFL), there are a total of 32 teams: 16 in the American Football Conference (AFC) and 16 in the National Football Conference (NFC). Each team plays 16 regular season games out of a 17-week schedule. Regular season games are held from September to December, with most teams playing one game per week. The NFL playoffs follow the regular season, culminating in the Super Bowl, which is currently held in early February.
AFC East
The AFC East is home to some of the most storied franchises in NFL history. The New England Patriots have been the dominant team in the division for the past two decades, winning six Super Bowls during that time. The other three teams in the division have all won Super Bowls in the past, and there is a rich history of success in the AFC East.
Today, the AFC East is home to four very competitive teams. The Patriots are still the favorites to win the division, but the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, and New York Jets all have a chance to make noise this season. All four teams made significant improvements to their rosters during the offseason, and it should be a very exciting season in the AFC East.
AFC North
The AFC North is a division of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). It was created before the 1970 season, when the league realigned divisions after expanding to 14 teams with the addition of the Seattle Seahawks. Four teams currently make up the AFC North: the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, and Pittsburgh Steelers.
AFC South
The AFC South is a division of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). It was created before the 2002 season, when the league realigned divisions after expanding to 32 teams.
Four teams currently play in the AFC South: the Houston Texans, the Indianapolis Colts, the Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Tennessee Titans.
AFC West
The AFC West is made up of the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland Raiders, and Los Angeles Chargers.
The Broncos have been to the Super Bowl eight times, winning three of them. The Chiefs have been to the Super Bowl two times, winning once. The Raiders have been to the Super Bowl five times, winning twice. The Chargers have never been to the Super Bowl.
NFC East
The NFC East is a division of the National Football League’s National Football Conference. It consists of four teams: the Dallas Cowboys, the New York Giants, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Washington Redskins.
NFC North
The NFC North is a division of the National Football League (NFL), and its four members are located in the Midwestern United States. The NFC North is one of the NFL’s four divisions under the new realignment that took effect in 2002, and comprises teams that originally played in the NFL’s Western Conference. Although all four teams have played in a Super Bowl, only two – the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears – have won it.
The division was formed in 1967 as the NFL’s 14th division under the name Central Division. It was later renamed NFC Central in 1970 and NFC North on January 8, 2002 to reflect the realignment that occurred when the league expanded to 32 teams with the addition of the Houston Texans. At that time, Indianapolis and Baltimore were moved out of what was then known as the AFC Central division to make room for Nashville and Charlotte in two new divisions.
NFC South
The National Football League (NFL) is a professional American football league consisting of 32 teams, divided equally between the National Football Conference (NFC) and the American Football Conference (AFC). The NFC South is one of the four divisions of the NFC, and currently consists of four teams: the Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, New Orleans Saints, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
NFC West
The NFC West is made up of four teams: the Seattle Seahawks, the Los Angeles Rams, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Arizona Cardinals. These four teams have a long history of rivalry and competition, dating back to when the Seahawks and 49ers first entered the league in 1976.
Today, the NFC West is considered one of the best divisions in football, with all four teams regularly contending for playoff spots. The Seahawks have been the most successful team in recent years, winning the division five times since 2010 and appearing in two Super Bowls. The Rams have also been competitive, winning the division three times since 2017.
