The NFL signed new nine-year deals with NBC, CBS, and Fox in 2011 that are collectively worth $27 billion. That’s an average of $3 billion per year, or about $100 million per team.
Other sources of revenue include ticket sales, merchandise sales, and sponsorship deals. For example, the NFL recently signed a reported $400 million deal with PepsiCo that made Pepsi the official soft drink sponsor of the league.
The NFL splits its revenue equally among all 32 teams. That means each team got about $255 million from television rights fees in 2018. The next biggest source of revenue for teams is ticket sales, which generated an average of $140 million per team in 2018.
