The Kansas City Chiefs are a professional American football team based in Kansas City, Missouri. The team was founded in 1960 as the Dallas Texans by businessman Lamar Hunt and was a charter member of the American Football League (AFL). In 1963, the team relocated to Kansas City and assumed their current name. The Chiefs joined the NFL as a result of the merger in 1970. The team is valued at over $2 billion.

Patrick Mahomes
Mahomes was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. After sitting behind Alex Smith for his first season, he became the Chiefs’ starting quarterback in 2018. In his first year as a starter, Mahomes led the Chiefs to an AFC Championship victory and was named the NFL MVP. In 2019, he led the Chiefs to their first Super Bowl appearance in 50 years, where they defeated the San Francisco 49ers for their first Super Bowl win in franchise history.
