Tom Brady
Tom Brady, who was drafted by the New England Patriots in 2000, is considered one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. He has led the Patriots to six Super Bowl wins, and has been named Super Bowl MVP four times. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2021.
Peyton Manning
Peyton Manning, who won two Super Bowls with the Indianapolis Colts and set numerous NFL passing records with the Denver Broncos, was one of eight members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2021 announced on Wednesday.
Also inducted were former Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks offensive tackle Walter Jones, wide receiver Calvin Johnson, defensive end Jared Allen, linebacker Zach Thomas, safety Steve Atwater and defensive back Albert Lewis.
Drew Brees
Drew Brees was the big story among the eight men inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday night. The longtime New Orleans Saints quarterback became just the second player to be unanimously voted in, joining running back Jerry Rice.
Joining Brees in this year’s class are wide receivers Calvin Johnson and Reggie Wayne, defensive end Jason Taylor, safety Ed Reed, linebacker Zach Thomas and offensive linemen Tony Boselli and Alan Faneca. All except Wayne are first-time eligible candidates.
Brees played 20 seasons in the NFL, spending the first five with the San Diego Chargers before signing with the Saints as a free agent in 2006. He helped lead New Orleans to a Super Bowl title in 2010 and was named the game’s MVP after completing 32 of 39 passes for 288 yards and two touchdowns.
For his career, Brees ranks first in NFL history in passing yards (80,358) and completions (7,142), while his 571 touchdown passes are second behind only Brett Favre (575). He was a 13-time Pro Bowler and was named first-team All-Pro six times.
Charles Woodson
Charles Woodson was born on October 7, 1976 in Fremont, Ohio. He played college football for the University of Michigan from 1995 to 1997, where he helped lead the team to a National Championship in 1997. Woodson then went on to play for the Oakland Raiders from 1998 to 2015, and the Green Bay Packers from 2006 to 2012. He was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 2021.
