Who Is The Most Penalized Player In The NFL?

Tom Brady

Tom Brady is the most penalized player in the NFL, with 181 penalties during his career. He is followed by Eli Manning (178), Brett Favre (163), Ben Roethlisberger (160), and Aaron Rodgers (154).

Peyton Manning

Peyton Manning is the most penalized player in the NFL. He has been penalized a total of 154 times during his career, including 131 times for false start and 23 times for delay of game.

Drew Brees

Drew Brees is the most penalized player in the NFL. The New Orleans Saints quarterback has been flagged a total of 20 times this season, 19 of which were for false start. That’s the most of any player in the league.

Brees has also been penalized for delay of game (twice) and intentional grounding. He ranks second in the NFL in penalties behind only Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who has been flagged 21 times this season.

Aaron Rodgers

Since he entered the league in 2006, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been one of the most decorated players in the NFL. He’s a two-time MVP, a six-time Pro Bowler, and a Super Bowl champion. He’s also been penalized more than any other player in the league.

According to data from NFLPenalties.com, Rodgers has been penalized 140 times in his career, including 119 times for false start infractions. That’s the most of any player in the league over that span. New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees is second with 114 penalties, followed by Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford with 113.

Rodgers isn’t just the most penalized player in the NFL, he’s also been penalized more than twice as often as any other player over the last decade. In fact, his 140 penalties are more than double the next closest player (Brees with 114).

Interestingly, Rodgers’ penchant for penalties doesn’t seem to be affecting his on-field performance. He’s still one of the best quarterbacks in the league and is coming off a season in which he threw for 4,299 yards and 45 touchdowns.

Russell Wilson

Russell Wilson is the most penalized player in the NFL. The Seattle Seahawks quarterback has been penalized 80 times in his career, including 61 times for delay of game.
