RBI Baseball is a baseball video game series which was originally created by Namco and published by Tengen in Japan. The series was then acquired by Bandai and finally by Namco Bandai Games in 2006. RBI Baseball is a baseball video game series
RBI Baseball is a baseball video game series that was developed by RBI Productions and published by Tengen (1988), LJN (1989–1990), and Acclaim Entertainment (1991–1995). The original game was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1988. Subsequent games were released for the Sega Genesis, Super NES, Game Boy, Game Gear, and Microsoft Windows. After a 15-year hiatus, the series was revived by 2K Games in 2014.
The RBI Baseball series was one of the first to allow players to create their own teams of players, as well as play a full season with those teams. Statistics were tracked for both individual players and teams. The games differed from most other baseball video games of the time in that they did not use licensed players from Major League Baseball or any of its minor leagues. Instead, each team had a roster of generic players with made-up names (e.g., Steve Nebraska, Phil Dirtbag). However, some of the player names were thinly veiled references to real major league players; for example, Gary Sheffield appeared as “Garey Sheffiled”.

The success of the first RBI Baseball game led to the development of sequels. RBI Baseball 2 was released in 1988, RBI Baseball 3 in 1989, and RBI Baseball 4 in 1990. These sequels were also successful, selling over 500,000 copies each.

Use all fielders to your advantage
All fielders have unique abilities, so you’ll need to use them all to your advantage if you want to win RBI Baseball. Here are some tips on how to best utilize each fielder:
First baseman – A first baseman’s main responsibility is to catch balls hit in their direction, but they can also be used to tag out runners. If you have a strong first baseman, don’t be afraid to let them roam a bit and field balls that would normally go to the second baseman or even the shortstop.
Second baseman – A good second baseman needs to have good range and a strong arm. They should be able to catch anything hit in their direction, and they need to be able to turn double plays quickly.
Third baseman – A third baseman needs a strong arm, as they will be called upon to make long throws to first base. They also need good range, as balls hit down the line will often come their way.
Shortstop – A shortstop needs good range and a strong arm, as they will often be called upon to make long throws across the diamond. They should also be able to turn double plays quickly.
Outfielders – Outfielders need good range and a strong arm, as they will often be called upon to make long throws into the infield. They should also be able track down fly balls hit over their heads.
Be patient at the plate
In order to score runs and win games in RBI Baseball, you need to be patient at the plate and force the pitcher to make mistakes. By working the count and waiting for your pitch, you’ll be able to get on base more often and drive in runs when they’re available.
One of the best ways to be patient at the plate is to have a good idea of the strike zone. If you know where the pitches are supposed to be, you can better gauge whether or not they’re worth swinging at. Take some time to study the strike zone and familiarize yourself with it before you step into the batter’s box.
Once you’re in the game, pay attention to how the pitcher is throwing and what kind of pitches he seems to favor. If he gets ahead in the count, he may be more likely to throw fastballs or strikes. But if he falls behind, he may have to resort to off-speed pitches or balls that are out of the strike zone. By being patient and forcing the pitcher to throw strikes, you’ll eventually get a pitch that you can drive for a hit.
Take advantage of the pitcher’s weaknesses
One way to score a lot of runs is to take advantage of the pitcher’s weaknesses. Every pitcher has different strengths and weaknesses, so it’s important to study up on the pitchers you’re about to face. Once you know their tendencies, you can better position your players and put them in a position to succeed.
For example, let’s say you’re facing a pitcher who likes to throw fastballs down the middle of the plate. You can take advantage of this by positioning your best hitters in the middle of the lineup. They’ll be more likely to see pitches in their sweet spot and drive them for extra-base hits.
