Pre-Season

LSU Baseball will play multiple exhibition games in February and early March against the Japanese National Team, the Houston Cougars, the McNeese Cowboys, and the Nicholls State Colonels.

The Regular Season

The regular season for LSU baseball generally runs from late February to early May. The team typically plays about 50 games during this time, including a mix of home and away games. The schedule is released in mid- January, so fans can start planning their trips to see the Tigers play early in the year.

In recent years, LSU has made a habit of playing in some of the most highly-anticipated college baseball tournaments in the country. These tournaments help the team prepare for SEC play, and they also give fans a chance to see some great matchups between LSU and other top programs. Some of the most popular tournaments that LSU has participated in include the Shreveport Classic, the Houston College Classic, and the Baton Rouge Super Regional.

The Post-Season

After the regular season ends, the top teams in each conference compete in a postseason tournament leading up to the College World Series (CWS). A team’s success in the postseason can secure it a berth in the CWS, which is held every year in Omaha, Nebraska.

The LSU baseball team has been to the CWS 27 times, winning six national championships. The Tigers have appeared in the CWS every decade since the 1950s.
