You don’t have to be a professional to know how to restring a baseball glove. In this blog post, we’ll show you how to do it in just a few simple steps.
Gather your tools. You will need a Phillips head screwdriver, a small flat head screwdriver, a leather punch, a lighter, and some fishing line.
1. Unscrew all of the Phillips head screws on the back of the glove. Remove the hand(s) from the glove.
2. Unscrew the small flat head screws that hold the binding on the edge of the glove. You will need to use the flat head screwdriver to pry up the binding a bit in order to remove the screws. Do not remove the binding, just loosen it enough so that you can remove the screws.
3. Take out all of the old lacing from around the glove. You may need to use a pair of needle nose pliers to remove some of the old lacing that is tight against metal grommets.
4. Once all of the old lacing is removed, use the leather punch to make new holes for your lacing. Make sure that you do not make the holes too close together or too far apart. There should be about 1/2 inch between each hole.
5. Cut a length of fishing line that is long enough to reach from one side of the glove to the other. Thread one end of the fishing line through a needle and then thread it through each hole in the glove, starting at one side and working your way to the other.
6. When you reach the end, tie a knot in the fishing line so that it stays in place. Trim any excess line off of the end.
7. Use a lighter to singe both ends of the fishing line so that they do not fray. Be careful not to melt or burn either end of the fishing line too much—you just want to seal off the ends so they will not fray when you are using them later on

With the old lacing removed, you will be able to see the inside of the glove and the location of the eyelets. It is important to be able to see the eyelets in order to know where to start when you restring the glove. If possible, take a picture of the inside of the glove so that you will have a reference when you start to restring.
Prep the new lacing. Cut the fishing line to the appropriate length. Then, use the lighter to singe the ends of the lacing. This will prevent the lacing from fraying.
1. Choose the type of lacing. There are two types of lacing available for purchase: rawhide and nylon. Nylon is the cheaper of the two, but it does not last as long as rawhide.
2. Cut the lacing to size. Measure the distance from the top of the glove to the bottom. Add 6 inches to this measurement, and then cut the lacing to that length.
3. Singe the ends of the lacing. This will prevent the lacing from fraying.
4. Thread one end of the lacing through the needle, and then tie a knot in the end to secure it.
5. Start at the top of the glove, and insert the needle under one of the stitches. Pull the lacing through, and then tie a knot in the end to secure it in place.
6. Continue working your way down the glove, inserting the needle under each stitch and pulling it through until you reach the bottom ofthe glove. Tie a knot inthe endto secure itin place

1. Start by untying the old lacing and removing it from the glove. If the lacing is frayed or otherwise damaged, you may want to consider replacing it with new lacing.
2. Cut a length of new lacing that is long enough to reach from the bottom of the glove to the top. If you are using multiple pieces of lacing, make sure that they are all the same length.
3. Thread the new lacing through the eyelets in the glove, starting at the bottom and working your way up.
4. Once you reach the top of the glove, tie a knot in the lacing to keep it secure. You may want to double-knot it for extra strength.
5. Trim any excess lacing, being careful not to cut too close to the knot.
Finish up. Once you reach the top of the glove, tie the lacing off in a knot. Then, use the Phillips head screwdriver to put the screws back in place.
