The A&M Kingsville Baseball Program
A&M Kingsville Baseball is a division two program that has been a part of the Southland Conference since 1987. The program has been to the NCAA Division II World Series four times in its history, and has won the conference championship a total of eleven times.
The coaching staff
The A&M Kingsville Baseball coaching staff is dedicated to the development and success of each student-athlete both on and off the field. The coaching staff is comprised of Head Coach Steve Richardson, Associate Head Coach JC Garica, Assistant Coach Andy Bennett, Volunteer Assistant Coach Francisco Cordero and Student Assistant Coach Ricky Ramirez.
Richardson enters his fourth season at the helm of the Javelinas program in 2020. In his first three years at A&M Kingsville, Richardson has led the Javelinas to a 122-56 (.685) record, three 30-win seasons, two conference championships and three trips to the NCAA Division II South Central Region Tournament. Under his tutelage, 20 student-athletes have earned All-Lone Star Conference honors, four have been named LSFA All-Americans and 16 have gone on to play professional baseball.
In 2019, Richardson was named the LSFA Coach of the Year after leading the Javelinas to a 42-17 (.712) overall record, a 17-5 mark in conference play and their second straight Lone Star Conference championship. The Javelinas finished the 2019 season ranked No. 4 in the nation by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper and made their second consecutive trip to the NCAA Division II South Central Region Tournament. Additionally, eight players earned All-Lone Star Conference honors while shortstop Edwin Diaz was named an LSFA All-American.
The facilities
The A&M Kingsville Baseball program is one of the premier baseball programs in Division II baseball. The Javelinas have made 17 appearances in the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship, winning five national championships in 1976, 1977, 1981, 1982, and 1984. The Javelinas have also appeared in ten NCAA Division II World Series. The program has produced 37 major league baseball players, including All-Stars Roger Clemens and Andy Pettitte.
A&M Kingsville has a long tradition of success on the diamond, and that success starts with the facilities. The Javelinas play their home games at James Garner Complex, which features a lighted turf field and a covered grandstand with seating for 1,000 fans. The complex also features a state-of-the-art clubhouse that was built in 2009.

Off-field training focuses on developing the physical strength, speed and power needed to compete at a high level.
Throughout the training process, players are closely monitored and evaluated to ensure they are making progress towards their goals. Players who successfully complete the training program will be well prepared for a successful career at A&M Kingsville.

The schedule
