Who Is The Highest Paid Player In The NBA?
We all know that NBA players are some of the highest paid athletes in the world. But who is the highest paid player in the NBA? We did some research and found out that it is none other than LeBron James!
LeBron James
LeBron James is the highest paid player in the NBA. He is set to make $32 million this season with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Kevin Durant
As of 2019, Kevin Durant is the highest paid player in the NBA, earning an annual salary of $30 million with the Golden State Warriors. Durant signed a two-year, $61.5 million contract extension with the Warriors in 2017, which includes a player option for the 2020-21 season. In addition to his salary, Durant also earns approximately $20 million from endorsements each year.
Russell Westbrook
As of 2019, Russell Westbrook is the highest paid player in the NBA, with an annual salary of $38 million. Westbrook is followed by LeBron James, who earns an annual salary of $33.5 million.
James Harden
Houston Rockets guard James Harden is the highest paid player in the NBA, earning a reported $38.2 million this season. Harden’s salary is nearly $10 million more than the second highest paid player in the league, Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant, who will make $30 million this season.
Steph Curry
The highest-paid player in the NBA is currently Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors. He signed a contract extension in 2017 worth $201 million over five years, which works out to an annual average salary of $40.2 million. Curry’s deal includes a player option for the 2022-23 season, so he could become a free agent again in five years’ time.
While Curry is currently the highest-paid player in the NBA, that doesn’t mean he’ll hold that title forever. In fact, it’s quite likely that the title will change hands in the next few years as a number of superstar players are set to sign new contracts. The likes of LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and James Harden are all due for new deals within the next two years, and it’s entirely possible that one or more of them could surpass Curry’s $201 million deal.
