We’re breaking down the rosters of the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers to see who has the edge in the NBA Finals.
The Warriors
Possibly the most talented team in NBA history, the Warriors are loaded with All-Stars and look to avenge last year’s loss in the Finals. With Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Kevin Durant, Golden State has the best player at each position and are a nightmare to matchup against.
Stephen Curry
Stephen Curry is an American professional basketball player for the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). A six-time NBA All-Star, he has been named the NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) twice and won three NBA championships with the Warriors. Many players and analysts have called him the greatest shooter in NBA history. He is credited with revolutionizing the game of basketball by inspiring players to adopt his shooting style, which uses quick release hand-eye coordination and a high arc.
Klay Thompson
Klay Alexander Thompson (born February 8, 1990) is an American professional basketball player for the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The son of former NBA player Mychal Thompson, he played college basketball for three seasons with the Washington State Cougars, where he was a two-time first-team all-conference selection in the Pac-10. He was selected in the first round of the 2011 NBA draft by Golden State with the 11th overall pick.

Green was selected 35th overall in the 2012 NBA draft by the Golden State Warriors. He was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team that same year. Green reached the Finals with the Warriors in 2015 and helped his team win an NBA championship that year; he was subsequently named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team. The following season, he helped lead the Warriors to an undefeated 67–15 regular season record and another Finals appearance; during that season he was named Defensive Player of the Year, becoming just the fourth non-center ever to receive that honor. He then helped lead Golden State to an NBA-record 73 regular season wins in 2015–16; that season he also became just one of nine players ever to average at least 15 points, 8 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block per game in an entire season. Green recorded his first triple double during 2016–17 season as he helped lead his team to their second consecutive Finals appearance where they lost in five games to Cleveland.
The Cavaliers
The Cavaliers are led by LeBron James, who is often considered the best player in the world. Kyrie Irving is another star on the team, and Kevin Love rounds out the big three. The Cavaliers also have a solid bench with players like J.R. Smith, Iman Shumpert, and Tristan Thompson. The Cavaliers are the defending champions and are looking to repeat.
