The Eastern Conference
As of today, February 12th, 2020, the Toronto Raptors are in first place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 41-14. The Milwaukee Bucks are in second place with a record of 40-14. The Philadelphia 76ers are in third place with a record of 39-17. The Indiana Pacers are in fourth place with a record of 36-20. The Boston Celtics are in fifth place with a record of 36-21.
The Atlantic Division
Leading the way in the Atlantic Division are the Toronto Raptors who have a record of 33-12. Right behind them are the Philadelphia 76ers who have a 32-14 record. The Boston Celtics are in third place with a 30-15 record, followed by the Brooklyn Nets in fourth place with a 25-20 record. The New York Knicks round out the division in fifth place with a 17-27 record.
The Central Division
The Central Division of the Eastern Conference is made up of the Milwaukee Bucks, Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Detroit Pistons, and Indiana Pacers.
The Milwaukee Bucks have the best record in the division, and the whole conference, with a record of 60-22. They are followed by the Chicago Bulls who have a record of 45-37. The Cleveland Cavaliers are in third place with a record of 44-38, and the Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers are tied for fourth place with identical records of 43-39.
All five teams in the division have clinched a spot in the playoffs. The top four seeds in the Eastern Conference will receive a first-round bye in the playoffs. The Central Division champion Milwaukee Bucks will be seeded first overall in the conference, while the Chicago Bulls will be seeded fifth. The Cleveland Cavaliers will be seeded sixth, while either the Detroit Pistons or Indiana Pacers will be seeded seventh and eighth respectively.
The Southeast Division
The Southeast Division is a division of the Eastern Conference in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The division consists of five teams: The Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, Miami Heat, Orlando Magic, and Washington Wizards. The Southeast Division was formed in 2004 as a result of NBA Commissioner David Stern’s realignment plan.
The Southeast Division is one of three divisions in the Eastern Conference, along with the Atlantic and Central divisions. The Southeast Division winner each season automatically receives one of the conference’s three playoff berths. As of 2021, the Southeast Division has sent a team to the NBA Finals 19 times, including 10 times since 2000.
The Atlanta Hawks are the most successful team in the division, having won 11 division championships. The Hawks have also appeared in three NBA Finals, winning one championship in 1958. The Miami Heat have won nine division championships and appeared in six NBA Finals, winning three championships (2012, 2013, 2020).
The Western Conference
As of December 25th, 2018, the Golden State Warriors are in first place in the Western Conference with a record of 27-11. The Warriors are closely followed by the Denver Nuggets who have a record of 23-11. The Portland Trail Blazers are in third place with a record of 23-12. The Oklahoma City Thunder and the Los Angeles Clippers round out the top five with records of 20-13 and 20-14 respectively.
The Southwest Division
1. Houston Rockets – The Houston Rockets are an American professional basketball team based in Houston, Texas. The Rockets compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA), as a member of the league’s Western Conference Southwest Division.
2. San Antonio Spurs – The San Antonio Spurs are an American professional basketball team based in San Antonio, Texas. The Spurs compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Western Conference Southwest Division.
3. New Orleans Pelicans – The New Orleans Pelicans are an American professional basketball team based in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Pelicans compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Western Conference Southwest Division.
4. Memphis Grizzlies – The Memphis Grizzlies are an American professional basketball team based in Memphis, Tennessee. The Grizzlies compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Western Conference Southwest Division.
The Northwest Division
The Northwest Division is a division of the Western Conference in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The division consists of five teams based in the Northwest United States: the Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Oklahoma City Thunder, Portland Trail Blazers and Utah Jazz. All of these teams except for Denver are part of the Russell Westbrook trade.
As of the end of the 2018-19 season, the division has sent two teams to the NBA Finals (the Seattle SuperSonics in 1979 and 1996) and three teams to the Conference Finals (the SuperSonics again in 1978 and 1990, and the Portland Trail Blazers in 1992). The SuperSonics also won the NBA championship in 1979.
