From the main menu, open the MyCAREER menu. In the top right corner, select the “Options” tab, then choose “Features.” From here, make sure the “Gameplay Sliders” option is toggled on.
Select the “MyPLAYER” option
From the main menu, go to “MyTEAM” and then select the “Settings” tab. In here, you’ll be able to change a few different settings related to your MyPLAYER. You can edit your player’s appearance, name, attributes, and more. However, for this guide, we’re interested in the “Gameplay Settings” option.
Select the “Attributes” option
on the main menu, and scroll over to the “MyPlayer” tab. From there, select the “Attributes” option. On the Attributes screen, you will see a number of different attribute categories that you can improve. To improve your shooting, you will want to focus on the “Inside Scoring,” “Outside Scoring,” and “Free Throw” categories.
Adjust your player’s shooting attributes
You’ll want to start by adjusting your player’s shooting attributes to better match your own playing style. Open the MyPlayer screen from the main menu, select “Shooting” from the list of available options, and tweak the sliders to taste. The further right you move a slider, the more pronounced that skill will become.
You can also change your release point while on this screen. By default, your player will always use an Out-In motion, but you can choose between In-Out, Quick Draw, Stepback, or Fadeaway release points instead. Each of these releases has its own advantages and disadvantages, so experiment with them all and see which one works best for you.
Finally, make sure to save your changes before exiting this screen.
Save your changes
In order to save your changes in NBA 2K21, you will need to go to the “Options” tab on the main menu. From there, you can choose the “Save” option, and then select the “Save Game” button. You will then be prompted to choose where you would like to save your game. NBA 2K21 will autosave your game progress at various points as well, so you don’t have to worry about losing your progress.
