A comprehensive list of who’s all in the NBA playoffs this year.

Eastern Conference

The Eastern Conference is made up of the following teams: the Milwaukee Bucks, the Toronto Raptors, the Philadelphia 76ers, the Boston Celtics, the Indiana Pacers, the Miami Heat, the Brooklyn Nets, and the Orlando Magic.

Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics are an American professional basketball team based in Boston, Massachusetts. The Celtics compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Eastern Conference Atlantic Division. Founded in 1946 as one of the league’s original eight teams, the team play their home games at TD Garden, which they share with the National Hockey League (NHL)’s Boston Bruins. The Celtics are one of the most successful teams in NBA history; they have won 16 NBA championships, the most out of any NBA franchise, as well as 20 conference titles and 19 division titles. 24 players have been inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and 21 have been inducted into the franchise’s Hall of Fame for their contributions both on and off the court.

The Celtics have a longtime rivalry with the Los Angeles Lakersbeing one of only two Eastern Conference teams to have won an NBA title in the 21st century; and a more recent rivalry with the Miami Heat.

Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers, also known as the Cavs, are an American professional basketball team based in Cleveland, Ohio. The Cavs compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Eastern Conference Central Division. The team began play as an expansion team in 1970, along with the Portland Trail Blazers and Buffalo Braves. Home games were first held at Cleveland Arena from 1970 to 1974, followed by the Richfield Coliseum from 1974 to 1994. Since 1994, the Cavs have played their home games at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in downtown Cleveland.

The Cavaliers name was chosen by owner Nick Mileti to reflect Cleveland’s rich baronial history. The team has reached the NBA Finals seven times, winning the championship in 2016. Their previous franchise unmarked was theBuffalo Braves, which coincidentally had similar colors (red, white and blue). As of 2020, the Cavs are one of two NBA teams without an official mascot, along with the Utah Jazz; Leo is their unofficial mascot since 1995.

Toronto Raptors

The Toronto Raptors are a Canadian professional basketball team based in Toronto, Ontario. The Raptors compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member club of the league’s Eastern Conference Atlantic Division. They normally play their home games at Scotiabank Arena, which they share with the National Hockey League’s Toronto Maple Leafs; however, they played most of their home games at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida during the 2020–21 season due to travel restrictions imposed by the Canadian government in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The team was established in 1995 along with the Vancouver Grizzlies, as part of the NBA’s expansion into Canada.

Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers are an American professional basketball team based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The 76ers compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Eastern Conference Atlantic Division and play at Wells Fargo Center. Founded in 1946 and originally known as the Syracuse Nationals, they are one of the oldest franchises in the NBA, and one of only eight (out of 23) to survive the league’s first decade.

Western Conference

Round 1 of the 2020 NBA Playoffs are in full swing and there are some great match-ups in the Western Conference. The Los Angeles Lakers are matched up against the Portland Trail Blazers, the Golden State Warriors are playing the Houston Rockets, and the Denver Nuggets are facing off against the Utah Jazz.

Houston Rockets

The Houston Rockets are a professional basketball team based in Houston, Texas. The Rockets compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA), as a member of the league’s Western Conference Southwest Division. The team plays its home games at the Toyota Center, located in Downtown Houston. Throughout their history, the Rockets have won two NBA championships and four Western Conference titles. The team was established as the San Diego Rockets, an expansion team originally based in San Diego, in 1967. In 1971, the Rockets moved to Houston.

Golden State Warriors

Out of all the teams in the NBA, the Golden State Warriors are one of the most successful teams in recent years. They have made it to the playoffs for six consecutive seasons and have won three NBA championships in that time. The Warriors are led by two-time MVP Stephen Curry and star forward Kevin Durant. Other key players on the team include Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, and Andre Iguodala. The Warriors are a force to be reckoned with and will be a tough team to beat in the playoffs.

Portland Trail Blazers

The Portland Trail Blazers, commonly known as the Blazers, are an American professional basketball team based in Portland, Oregon. The Trail Blazers compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Western Conference Northwest Division. The franchise was founded in 1970, and played its home games in Memorial Coliseum before moving to Moda Center in 1995. The team has advanced to the NBA Finals three times, winning the NBA championship once in 1977. Their other NBA Finals appearances were in 1990 and 1992.

Oklahoma City Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder are an American professional basketball team based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The Thunder competes in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Western Conference Northwest Division. The team plays its home games at Chesapeake Energy Arena.

The Thunder was established as the Seattle SuperSonics, an expansion team that joined the NBA for the 1967–68 season. The SuperSonics moved to Oklahoma City in 2008 after a settlement was reached between the former owner, Clay Bennett, and lawmakers in Seattle following a lawsuit. In Seattle, the SuperSonics qualified for the NBA playoffs 22 times, won their division six times, and won the 1979 NBA Championship. In Oklahoma City, the Thunder made their first playoff appearance during the 2009–10 season. They plays their home games at Chesapeake Energy Arena
