Eastern Conference
The Eastern Conference playoff race is wide open heading into the final weeks of the regular season. The Milwaukee Bucks have the best record in the conference, but the Toronto Raptors, Philadelphia 76ers and Indiana Pacers are all close behind. The bottom of the conference is also up for grabs, with the Miami Heat, Detroit Pistons, Charlotte Hornets and Orlando Magic all within a few games of each other.
Atlantic Division
The Atlantic Division is a division of the Eastern Conference in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The division consists of five teams located in the Northeastern United States: the Boston Celtics, Brooklyn Nets, New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers, and Toronto Raptors.
The Boston Celtics are currently in first place with a record of 53-22. The Brooklyn Nets are in second place with a record of 42-33, followed by the Philadelphia 76ers (41-34), Toronto Raptors (39-36), and New York Knicks (29-46).
Central Division
The Central Division of the Eastern Conference is made up of the following teams:
– Milwaukee Bucks (1)
– Toronto Raptors (2)
– Indiana Pacers (3)
– Detroit Pistons (4)
– Chicago Bulls (5)
– Cleveland Cavaliers (6)
Southeast Division
The Southeast Division is one of the three divisions in the Eastern Conference of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The division consists of five teams, all of which are based in the southeastern United States.
As of the 2019–20 NBA season, the Southeast Division has a combined record of 92–58 (.611), good for second place in the Eastern Conference behind only the Atlantic Division. The division has sent at least two teams to the NBA playoffs in each of the past 18 seasons, and as many as four teams in five different seasons.
The Southeast Division was formed at the start of the 2004–05 NBA season, when the league realigned its divisions and conferences in an effort to balance team sizes and create more geographic rivalries. The division’s five charter members were all previously members of either the Central Division or Midwest Division in the Western Conference.
Western Conference
The Western Conference playoff race is wide open, with only a few games remaining in the regular season. The Warriors have clinched the top seed, but there is still a lot to be decided in terms of who will claim the other seven spots. As it stands, the Rockets, Nuggets, Trail Blazers, Jazz, Thunder, Spurs, and Clippers are all playoff-bound, but their seeding is far from finalized.
Southwest Division
1. Houston Rockets (53-29)
2. San Antonio Spurs (48-34)
3. New Orleans Pelicans (45-37)
4. Dallas Mavericks (33-49)
5. Memphis Grizzlies (33-49)
Northwest Division
The Northwest Division is a division of the Western Conference in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The division consists of five teams, the Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Oklahoma City Thunder, Portland Trail Blazers, and Utah Jazz.
The division was formed at the start of the 2004–05 season as part of an NBA restructuring that saw the league realign its divisions so that each contained five teams from each conference. The reorganization also saw the Northwest become the first ever NBA division to be completely contained within one time zone.
The Northwest Division is one of three divisions in the Western Conference that currently does not have a team located in California; the other two being the Southwest and Central Divisions.
Pacific Division
The Pacific Division is one of the three divisions in the Western Conference of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The division consists of five teams, the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Phoenix Suns, Sacramento Kings, and Golden State Warriors.
NBA Finals
The playoffs are here and the race to the NBA Finals is on. Who will come out on top? As of now, the Golden State Warriors are in the lead, followed by the Houston Rockets. The Toronto Raptors and the Boston Celtics are close behind. Who do you think will make it to the Finals?
Eastern Conference vs. Western Conference
In the NBA, the playoff system is set up so that the eight best teams in each conference (based on regular season record) qualify for the postseason. The Conference Finals are then a best-of-seven series between the two remaining teams in each conference, with the winner advancing to the NBA Finals.
The NBA Finals is a best-of-seven series between the Eastern Conference and Western Conference champions. The team with the better regular season record between the two finalists earns home-court advantage, meaning they get to play four of the seven games at home. The NBA Finals is one of the most watched sporting events in North America, and routinely reaches audiences of over 20 million viewers.
