Wilt Chamberlain holds the record for the most misses in NBA history. He missed 8,725 shots during his career, which is almost 2,000 more than the player in second place. Despite all of his misses, Chamberlain is still considered one of the greatest players of all time. He was a two-time NBA champion and a four-time NBA MVP.

Wilt Chamberlain set the single-game record for most missed field goal attempts in an NBA game when he shot just 1-of-14 from the field against the Cincinnati Royals on November 24, 1967. Chamberlain would go on to miss 13 more field goals in that game, giving him a total of 15 misses on the night.

In the 1972–73 NBA season, Chamberlain set the single-season record for most missed field goals with 644. The record stood for more than 20 years before it was broken by Shaquille O’Neal, who recorded 661 misses in the 1998–99 season.
