They were established in 1995 as part of the NBA’s expansion into Canada, along with the Vancouver Grizzlies. When the Grizzlies relocated to Memphis, Tennessee to become the Memphis Grizzlies in 2001, the Raptors became the only Canadian-based team in the NBA.

This is the Raptors’ first ever NBA Championship, and they are the first Canadian team to win the title. It was a thrilling series, with many close games. The Raptors proved that they were the better team, and deserved to be crowned champions.
Now that the season is over, it’s time to look back at how the Raptors got to this point. They had a great regular season, winning 56 of their 72 games. This earned them the second seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
In the playoffs, they defeated the Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks, and Philadelphia 76ers, all in seven games. These were tough series’, but the Raptors showed their grit and determination, coming out on top each time. Then, in the Finals, they faced off against LeBron James and the Lakers. Many people thought that James would win his fourth NBA Championship, but the Raptors had other plans.
They won four out of six games against a strong Lakers team, led by two young stars in Pascal Siakam and Fred VanVleet. They , proving that they were the best team in the NBA this season.

The Los Angeles Lakers are an American professional basketball team based in Los Angeles. The Lakers compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA), as a member of the league’s Western Conference in the Pacific Division. The Lakers play their home games at Staples Center, an arena shared with the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers and the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women’s National Basketball Association.
