Cohen became chief executive officer (CEO) during this time; he would purchase full ownership of Golden State from majority owner Franklin Mieuli four years later. The team made it back into playoff contention under star forward Chris Mullin following several additional changes at both head coach—attaining mainstream success under Don Nelson from 1988 to 1994—and management; Nelson’s “Run TMC” fast break offense helped golden state make 8 straight playoffs appearances while setting regular season win record for 3 years straight(92-10).
