Must Start NBA Players Tonight?

intro

There are a lot of factors to consider when choosing which NBA players to start in your lineup. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

-The player’s matchup. You’ll want to start players who have favorable matchups, meaning they’re up against an opponent that they have a good chance of scoring against.
-The player’s recent performance. You’ll want to start players who are hot right now and riding a wave of good form.
-Injuries. Start players who are healthy and likely to see significant playing time. Avoid players who are injured or coming off of an injury.
-The player’s role on their team. Start players who are likely to see a lot of minutes and opportunity, such as starters or key bench players. Avoid players who are buried on the bench and unlikely to see much playing time.

Russell Westbrook

Russell Westbrook is one of the most electrifying players in the NBA, and he’s coming off a triple-double against the Charlotte Hornets. Westbrook scored 21 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and dished out 10 assists in the Oklahoma City Thunder’s 103-91 win. He also had four steals and two blocks in the contest.

James Harden

Houston Rockets superstar James Harden is one of the most electric players in the NBA, and he always seems to put up huge numbers whenever he steps on the court. If you’re lucky enough to have him on your fantasy team, you’re going to want to make sure he’s in your lineup tonight as the Rockets take on the New Orleans Pelicans.

Harden is averaging an absurd 36.3 points, 7.5 assists and 6.6 rebounds per game this season, and he’s fresh off a 50-point triple-double against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He’s scored at least 30 points in each of his last four games, and there’s no reason to believe he won’t continue his torrid pace against a Pelicans team that ranks near the bottom of the league in points allowed per game.

So if you have James Harden on your fantasy team, be sure to get him into your lineup tonight for what should be another big performance.

Kyrie Irving

Kyrie Irving is one of the best point guards in the NBA and is a must start player in any fantasy basketball lineup. He is averaging 24.5 points, 5.1 assists and 1.5 steals per game this season and is shooting 47.8 percent from the field and 40.8 percent from three-point range. Kyrie is also a great free throw shooter, shooting 86 percent from the line this season.

Damian Lillard

Though he may not have the best matchup on paper against the Pelicans, Lillard is still one of the most consistent performers in the league and is always worth starting in fantasy. He’s averaging 26.9 points, 6.6 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game this season and has scored 20 or more points in all but two games. With Anthony Davis likely to miss another game with a knee injury, Lillard should be in for a big night.

Joel Embiid

Joel Embiid, C, Philadelphia
Joel “The Process” Embiid has been one of the best players in the NBA this season when healthy. The 7-footer is averaging 23.4 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.1 blocks in 32 games played. He’s also shooting an impressive 48.4 percent from the field and 36.7 percent from three-point range. The only downside to Embiid is his durability, as he’s missed 14 games this season due to various injuries. When he’s on the court, however, he’s must-start material in all fantasy formats.

Karl-Anthony Towns

Karl-Anthony Towns is a must start tonight against the Pelicans. He has been on a tear lately, averaging 27 points and 15 rebounds over his last ten games. Additionally, he has been dominant against the Pelicans this season, averaging 29 points and 12 rebounds in two games against them. Start him with confidence tonight.

Giannis Antetokounmpo

Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the leading scorers in the NBA and is a must-start player every night. He is averaging 27.2 points, 10 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 52.9% from the field and 80.6% from the free throw line. He is one of the most versatile players in the league and can fill up stat sheets in every category. He has only had one bad game this season and that was against the tough defense of the Utah Jazz. Tonight he has a matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers who have been struggling lately, so expect Giannis to have a big game.

Jimmy Butler

Butler has been in a bit of a slump lately, but he’s shown that he can put up big numbers when he’s on. If you have him on your team, you should start him tonight.

Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis is one of the best players in the NBA, and he should be in your lineup every night. Davis is averaging 27.3 points, 12.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 2.6 blocks, and 1.4 steals per game this season, and he is shooting 50.8% from the field and 80.6% from the free throw line. Davis has also played in all but one game this season, so you can count on him for consistent production.
