Who’s Sitting Out in the NBA Tonight?

Keep up to date with which NBA players are sitting out each game.

Los Angeles Lakers

Tonight’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers will be an away game for the Houston Rockets. The Lakers will be without Rajon Rondo, who is suspended, and Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball, who are both injured. This will be a tough game for the Lakers, but they will have to rely on their bench players to step up.

Rajon Rondo

Rajon Rondo is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats, winning a National Championship in his only season of college basketball. He was drafted 21st overall by the Phoenix Suns in the 2006 NBA draft and traded to the Boston Celtics, with whom he played until 2014. He then briefly played for Dallas Mavericks, Sacramento Kings and Chicago Bulls before signing with New Orleans Pelicans in 2017. In 2018, he was traded back to the Lakers.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope will not play in Saturday’s game against the Kings. Caldwell-Pope has been battling an Achilles injury and it will cause him to miss his second straight game.

Golden State Warriors

The Warriors will be sitting out their superstar shooting guard, Klay Thompson, tonight against the Los Angeles Clippers. Thompson has been bothered by an ankle injury for most of the season, and the team has decided to give him a night off to rest.

Klay Thompson

Klay Alexander Thompson (born February 8, 1990) is an American professional basketball player for the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The son of former NBA player Mychal Thompson, he played college basketball for three seasons with the Washington State Cougars, where he was a two-time first-team all-conference selection in the Pac-10. He was selected in the first round of the 2011 NBA draft by Golden State with the 11th overall pick, and helped the team win an NBA championship in his rookie season.

Over his eight-year career with the Warriors, Thompson has been selected to five All-Star teams and four All-NBA teams. He has won three NBA championships with Golden State, earning NBA Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP) honors in 2015 as well as two Olympic gold medals representing Team USA in 2014 and 2016.

Kevon Looney

Kevon Looney will not play against the Houston Rockets on Saturday due to a right hamstring strain, the Warriors announced.

Looney, 23, is averaging 6.3 points and 5.2 rebounds in 65 games this season. He has started 44 games, including each of the past 28 contests.

Brogdon, who is averaging career highs of 19.2 points and 7.8 assists per game, has been one of the Pacers’ most important players this season. He has missed four games due to injury so far this season.

Without Brogdon, the Pacers will likely turn to veteran point guard Darren Collison to lead the team’s offense. Collison is averaging 11.4 points and 5.2 assists per game this season.

Myles Turner
