Will Dean Ambrose return to WWE? This is a question that many fans are asking after he was last seen on WWE television over a year ago.
Introduction
It’s been almost a year since Dean Ambrose walked out on WWE, and there’s been no sign of him returning any time soon.
So, the question on everyone’s mind is: will Dean Ambrose return to WWE?
The answer, unfortunately, is that we just don’t know.
Dean Ambrose is currently signed to a non-compete clause with WWE, which means he can’t appear on any televised wrestling shows for any other promotion until his contract expires in April 2020.
However, there have been rumors that Dean Ambrose might be appearing at independent wrestling shows, which would be a violation of his contract.
There has also been speculation that Dean Ambrose might be in talks with All Elite Wrestling (AEW), which is a new promotion founded by Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks.
All Elite Wrestling has already signed several big names, such as Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega, so it’s possible that they might be interested in signing Dean Ambrose as well.
At this point, we just don’t know what Dean Ambrose is going to do. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
Ambrose’s current status
As of right now, Dean Ambrose is not under contract with WWE. His contract expired on April 30th, 2019 and he has not signed a new one. He is currently taking independent bookings, but has not made any appearances for WWE since WrestleMania 35.
His contract is up in April
As of right now, there is no reports on if Dean Ambrose will be resigning with WWE or not. His contract is currently up in April, which means he is a free agent as of now. Ambrose has not been seen on WWE programming since he lost to Seth Rollins at WWE Fastlane.
He has been off TV since December
When it was announced that Roman Reigns had to step away from WWE due to his ongoing battle with leukemia, many fans wondered if Dean Ambrose would also take some time off. After all, the two men are incredibly close friends outside of WWE, and they had just formed The Shield back together on Raw a few months prior.
However, Ambrose has remained on WWE programming since Reigns’ announcement, even winning the Intercontinental Championship from Seth Rollins at TLC in December.
Since then though, Ambrose has been off WWE TV, as he was not part of the Royal Rumble match and did not compete at Elimination Chamber. His absence has led to speculation that he may be taking time off for personal reasons, but WWE has not officially announced anything.
It is possible that Ambrose is simply taking a break from WWE because he doesn’t want to be part of the company without his friend Reigns. Alternatively, he could be waiting for Reigns to return so they can reform The Shield once again.
Theories on why Ambrose has been absent
Ambrose has not been seen on WWE television since he lost the World Championship to Seth Rollins on the May 14th, 2019 episode of Monday Night Raw. There are many theories as to why he has not been on WWE programming, with the most popular one being that he is taking time off to heal up.
He’s taking time off to heal
Ambrose has been out of action since December, when he suffered a triceps injury that required surgery. While many fans assumed that he would be out for several months, WWE never gave a timetable for his return.
In recent weeks, however, there have been several indications that Ambrose may never return to WWE. The most obvious is the fact that he has been removed from all WWE advertising and live event listings. Additionally, a report from PWInsider claimed that Ambrose has told people close to him that he does not plan on returning to WWE when his contract expires in April.
While these reports should be taken with a grain of salt, it’s definitely possible that Ambrose has decided to move on from WWE. If that’s the case, it would be a huge loss for the company, as Ambrose is one of the most popular superstars on the roster.
He’s not happy with WWE creative
One of the prevailing theories as to why Ambrose has been absent from WWE is that he was not happy with the creative direction of his character. Ambrose is a very talented wrestler and has a dedicated fan base, but it seems WWE wasn’t sure what to do with him. He was often used as comic relief or as a lower-card performer, and it’s possible that Ambrose felt he deserved better. WWE may have decided to let him cool off for a while in hopes that he would change his mind, but so far, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
What could Ambrose do outside of WWE
Dean Ambrose is a top star in WWE, but his contract is coming up soon and he has not signed a new one yet. Ambrose is a former WWE World Champion and has been a top star for WWE since he debuted in 2012. If Ambrose does not sign a new contract, he could leave WWE and go to another wrestling company. Ambrose could also retire from wrestling altogether. Let’s look at what Ambrose could do outside of WWE.
He could return to his old promotion
Will Dean Ambrose return to WWE? Only time will tell. For now, he is focused on his new career outside of WWE.
Ambrose made his name in WWE as one of the most exciting and unpredictable wrestlers in the company. He was a member of The Shield, a dominant stable that ruled the WWE for years. Ambrose was also a successful singles wrestler, winning the WWE Championship and Intercontinental Championship.
However, Ambrose left WWE in April 2019 after his contract expired. He has since started wrestling for All Elite Wrestling (AEW), a new promotion that is quickly making a name for itself.
While Ambrose is clearly enjoying his new career, many fans are wondering if he will ever return to WWE. After all, WWE is the biggest wrestling promotion in the world and it would be hard for Ambrose to turn down an offer to return.
Only time will tell if Ambrose will return to WWE. For now, he seems happy with his new career and promotion.
He could start his own promotion
Ambrose could start his own Wrestling Promotion, like Chris Jericho did with All Elite Wrestling.
Conclusion
Based on everything we know, it seems highly unlikely that Dean Ambrose will return to WWE anytime soon. He seems to be content with his current situation and is unlikely to change his mind unless something major happens.
