Lacey Evans’ WWE Career

Lacey Evans has been in WWE for a little over two years now. She made her main roster debut in April of 2018. Evans has had a bit of an up and down career so far. She has been in some high profile matches, but has also been buried at times. Let’s take a look at her career so far.

Debut

Lacey Evans made her WWE debut on the main roster in April 2019, as part of the Superstar Shake-up. She quickly became one of the most exciting new additions to the women’s division, and even got a shot at RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch at Money in the Bank.

Unfortunately, Lacey Evans’ WWE career hit a bit of a snag after that. She was involved in a number of high-profile feuds, but never managed to win a championship. In 2020, she took a break from WWE to focus on her family, and has not been seen on TV since.

As of right now, it is unclear if Lacey Evans is still under contract with WWE. She has not been featured on TV in over six months, and her name has been removed from the official WWE website. It seems unlikely that she will return to WWE anytime soon, but you never know what can happen in the world of professional wrestling.

Feud with Becky Lynch

At Money in the Bank, Evans was part of the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match which Lynch also competed in. Evans was one of the last two women remaining in the match along with Lynch, however, Lynch was able to retrieve the briefcase. The following night on Raw, Evans confronted Lynch and attacked her from behind. This led to a rematch between the two at Super ShowDown, which Lynch won. Following Super ShowDown, Evans was written off television due to suffering a real-life pregnancy. She returned at WrestleMania 36 on April 5, 2020, attacking Lynch during her match with Charlotte Flair.

On May 11 at Money in the Bank, Evans defeated Lynch and Flair in a handicap match to win the Raw Women’s Championship for the first time, after pinning Flair. Two nights later on Raw, Evans lost the title back to Lynch in a singles match. At Backlash on June 14, Evans failed to regain the title from Lynch in a six-woman eliminator match which also included Flair and Asuka among others.

Main Roster

Lacey Evans made her main roster debut on the April 8, 2019 episode of Raw, where she slapped Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch in the face. This set up a match between the two at Money in the Bank, which Lynch won. Lynch and Evans continued to feud, with Evans attacking Lynch on multiple occasions. The two met again at Extreme Rules in a winners take all match for both the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championships, which Lynch won again.

Following her loss at Extreme Rules, Evans began a new storyline where she became increasingly frustrated with her losses and began lashing out at fans and WWE staff members. She was eventually suspended for 30 days due to unprofessional conduct. Upon her return, Evans reignited her feud with Lynch and challenged her to a match at Clash of Champions, which Lynch won again.

Evans then shifted her focus to SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley, and the two faced off at Survivor Series in a losing effort for Team SmackDown. In December 2019, Evans defeated Bayley to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship, but lost the title back to Bayley two weeks later.

In early 2020, Evans started a new feud with Nikki Cross, who had been appointed as Alexa Bliss’ new bodyguard. The two faced off several times over the next few months, with Cross emerging victorious each time. At SummerSlam in August 2020, Evans finally defeated Cross in a Street Fight.

As of October 2020, Evans is not currently contracted to WWE.

Lacey Evans is a professional wrestler who is currently signed to WWE. She is a former United States Marine. Evans was born on September 24, 1988, in Columbia, South Carolina. Evans is married to Austin Johnson, and the couple have two children together.

Family

Lacey has a daughter named Summer, who was born in 2013. Lacey kept her pregnancy private until after Summer was born. She has said that becoming a mother has changed her life and that being a role model for her daughter is very important to her.

Lacey is currently in a relationship with fellow WWE Superstar Seth Rollins. The two got engaged in 2019 and are expecting their first child together later in 2020.
