The 2020 NFL season is well underway, and there are plenty of talented running backs in the league. But who is the best of the bunch?
We take a look at the top contenders for the title of best running back in the NFL in 2020, and make our case for who we think deserves the title.
Ezekiel Elliot
Ezekiel Elliot is the best running back in the NFL. He was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Elliot had an immediate impact on the Cowboys offense. In his rookie season, he led the NFL in rushing yards and was named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Elliot has played three seasons in the NFL. In 2016, he rushed for 1,631 yards and 15 touchdowns. In 2017, he rushed for 983 yards and seven touchdowns. In 2018, he was suspended for six games due to a domestic violence incident, but still managed to rush for 1,434 yards and six touchdowns in the 10 games he did play. So far this season, he has rushed for 858 yards and five touchdowns in eight games.

He received the Doak Walker Award for being that season’s best running back.
