The Class of 2021
The Class of 2021 includes wide receivers Terrell Owens and Marvin Harrison, quarterback Peyton Manning, defensive end Jason Taylor, and safety John Lynch. All five were voted in on their first ballot. Defensive tackle Warren Sapp was also voted in, while cornerback Champ Bailey and linebacker Tony Dungy were elected as contributors. All told, the Class of 2021 is one of the most accomplished and star-studded groups in history.
Jerry Rice
Considered the greatest wide receiver in NFL history, Jerry Rice was selected to the Pro Bowl 13 times in his 20 seasons and named All-Pro 10 times. He is the league’s all-time leader in catches (1,549), receiving yards (22,895) and receiving touchdowns (197). During his illustrious career, he won three Super Bowls with the San Francisco 49ers and was named Super Bowl MVP in 1989. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2010.
Peyton Manning
Peyton Manning was a legendary quarterback who played for both the Indianapolis Colts and the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL). He is a 14-time Pro Bowl selection, and was named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) five times. He led the Colts to a Super Bowl victory in 2006, and the Broncos to a Super Bowl win in 2015. Manning retired from professional football following the 2015 season.
Charles Woodson
Charles Woodson, one of the NFL’s most decorated players, was selected as a first-ballot Hall of Famer in his first year of eligibility.
Woodson, a cornerback and safety who played 18 seasons with the Oakland Raiders, Green Bay Packers and Houston Texans, is the only defensive player in NFL history to win the Heisman Trophy. He was also named Defensive Rookie of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year (twice) and a nine-time Pro Bowler.
In his Hall of Fame career, Woodson racked up 65 interceptions (third all time), 13 sacks, 28 forced fumbles (fifth all time) and nine defensive touchdowns (tied for first all time). He was also a key member of the Packers team that won Super Bowl XLV in 2010.
Calvin Johnson
Calvin Johnson, nicknamed “Megatron” is a former American football wide receiver. He was drafted by the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL) in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft, and played his entire career for the Lions. A six-time Pro Bowl selection, Johnson led the league in receiving touchdowns for four seasons (2008–2011). He is also widely regarded as one of the greatest wide receivers of all time.
