High school career
Julio Jones attended Foley High School in Foley, Alabama, where he played wide receiver and defensive back for the Lions football team. As a freshman in 2006, he had 36 receptions for 724 yards and four touchdowns. He helped lead the team to a 15–0 record and a Class 5A state championship. He was named a first-team all-state selection by the Alabama Sports Writers Association as a freshman. As a sophomore in 2007, he had 78 receptions for 1,133 yards and 12 touchdowns. For his junior season in 2008, he caught 47 passes for 820 yards and eight touchdowns. As a senior in 2009, he had 46 receptions for 1,030 yards and 16 touchdowns.
In July 2008, Jones participated in the inaugural Under Armour Elite 11 quarterback competition during Nike’s “The Opening” college football training camp at Stanford University.

The Julio Jones Foundation is a charity founded by NFL star Julio Jones. The foundation provides support to underprivileged youth in the greater Birmingham, Alabama area. It also funds college scholarships and offers mentorship programs.
