Which NFL Teams Are Going to the Super Bowl?
It’s that time of year again! The time when every football fan’s favorite question gets asked: Which NFL Teams Are Going to the Super Bowl?
AFC
The New England Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs are the two best teams in the AFC and they are both going to the Super Bowl. The Patriots are the better team and they are going to win the Super Bowl.
New England Patriots
As of right now, the New England Patriots are scheduled to play the Los Angeles Rams in the Super Bowl. This could change if the Rams lose to the Dallas Cowboys or the Patriots lose to either the Miami Dolphins or the Pittsburgh Steelers, but it is looking like these two teams will be facing off in February.
Pittsburgh Steelers
The Pittsburgh Steelers are a professional American football team based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Steelers compete in the National Football League (NFL), as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) North division. Founded in 1933, the Steelers are the oldest franchise in the AFC.
In 1971, the Steelers joined the AFC following the merger of the rival American Football League (AFL) and NFL. The team has won eight AFC championships, more than any other team in the conference. They are tied with the New England Patriots for the most conference titles overall with eleven, have played in more conference championship games than any other team with fifteen, and played in ten Super Bowls, winning six of them – more than any other team. The Steelers have won 19 divisional championships and 8 AFC wild card playoff berths since their founding. The Steelers share historic rivals with brainless teams like Cincinnati Bengals, Dallas Cowboys and Baltimore Ravens.
NFC
The National Football Conference (NFC) is one of the two conferences of the National Football League (NFL), the highest professional level of American football in the world. The NFC was created on June 4, 1970, following the merger of the rival American Football League (AFL) and the NFL, and currently consists of 16 teams organized into four divisions.
Los Angeles Rams
The Los Angeles Rams are a professional American football team that compete in the National Football League (NFL). The Rams began play in 1936 as the Cleveland Rams, based in Cleveland, Ohio. The franchise relocated to Los Angeles, California in 1946, and then moved back to St. Louis, Missouri between 1995 and 2015, before returning to Los Angeles again in 2016. The Rams franchise has won three NFL championships, and is the only one to win championships representing three different cities.
New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints are a professional American football team based in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Saints currently compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s National Football Conference (NFC) South division. The team was founded by John W. Mecom Jr., David Dixon, and the city of New Orleans on November 1, 1966. The Saints began play in Tulane Stadium in 1967.
The name “Saints” is an ode to November 1 being All Saints Day in the Catholic faith, as New Orleans has a large Catholic population. Under head coach Sean Payton and quarterback Drew Brees, they returned to prominence in 2009 winning Super Bowl XLIV 44–28 over the Indianapolis Colts.
