Home games were first held at Cleveland Arena from 1970 to 1974, followed by the Richfield Coliseum from 1974 to 1994. Since 1994, the Cavs have played their home games at Quicken Loans Arena in downtown Cleveland, which is shared with the arena football team, the Cleveland Gladiators. The Cavaliers opened their inaugural season losing their first 15 games and struggled in their early years, placing no better than sixth in the Eastern Conference during their first five seasons. The team won their first Central Division title in 1976, which also marked the first winning season and playoff appearance in franchise history, where they advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals. The franchise was sold to Ted Stepien in 1980. Stepien’s tenure as owner was marked by six consecutive losing seasons from 1981 to 1986, resulting in a poor reputation around the league. After the firing of Blatt and promoting assistant head coach Tyronn Lue to interim head coach midway through his second season with Cavs due to health reasons, went on win 19 straight games after starting out with a 0-6 record against teams that made it into playoffs that year including finals rematch against Golden State Warriors 3-2 leading into 2016 NBA Finals which was also James seventh consecutive NBA Finals appearance but was unable to win his fourth NBA championship after losing Game 7 93-89 at Oracle Arena against Warriors led by Stephen Curry after being down 3-1 coming back winning next three games but losing Game 7 due mostly Kevin Love suffering from concussion previous game and Kyrie Irving breaking his kneecap previous game as well.
