Contents
After an exciting regular season, 12 NFL teams have been eliminated from the playoffs. Here’s a look at the teams that won’t be playing in the postseason.
AFC teams
There are only four teams remaining in the AFC playoffs. The Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans, Kansas City Chiefs, and New England Patriots have all clinched a spot in the divisional round. These teams will now compete for a spot in the AFC Championship game.
Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens are a professional American football team based in Baltimore, Maryland. They compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the American Football Conference (AFC) North division. The Ravens were established in 1996, when Art Modell, who was then the owner of the Cleveland Browns, announced plans to relocate the franchise to Baltimore.[1][2] The Ravens have qualified for the NFL playoffs 11 times since 2000, with two Super Bowl victories (Super Bowl XXXV and Super Bowl XLVII), two AFC Championship titles (2000 and 2012), 15 playoff victories, four AFC North division titles (2003, 2006, 2011, 2012), and are currently the only team in the AFC North to hold a perfect record in divisional play at 10–0.[3]
Houston Texans
The Houston Texans are a professional American football team based in Houston, Texas. The Texans compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the American Football Conference (AFC) South division. The team plays its home games at NRG Stadium, a stadium it shares with the National League baseball team, the Houston Astros. The Texans have won two AFC South championships since joining the league in 2002.

The Kansas City Chiefs are a professional American football team based in Kansas City, Missouri. The Chiefs compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) West division.

The Chargers compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) West division. They were established on August 14, 1959, and began play on September 10, 1960, as a charter member of the American Football League (AFL), and spent their first season in Los Angeles, before moving to San Diego in 1961.
New England Patriots
The New England Patriots are a professional American football team based in the Greater Boston region. The Patriots compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) East division. NFC teams
There are 4 NFC teams out of the playoffs: the Green Bay Packers, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Seattle Seahawks, and the Los Angeles Rams.
Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys are a professional American football team based in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The Cowboys compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s National Football Conference (NFC) East division. They are headquartered in Frisco, Texas, and play their home games at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, which opened for the 2009 season. The stadium took the place of the partially demolished Texas Stadium, which served as the Cowboys’ home from 1971 through the 2008 season.
The Cowboys joined the NFL as an expansion team in 1960. The team’s national following might best be represented by its NFL record of consecutive sell-outs. The Cowboys’ streak of 190 consecutive sold-out regular and post-season games began in 2002. The franchise has made it to eight Super Bowls, tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos for second most Super Bowl appearances in history behind only the New England Patriots’ eleven appearances. This has also corresponded to eight NFC championships, most in the NFC.[1][2] They are also one of five teams to win all five of their conference championships games since 1970.[3]
As of 2019, the Cowboys have an NFL-high US$5.5 billion value according to Forbes,[4] making them also the most valuable sports franchise in North America for a fourth consecutive year.[5]
Green Bay Packers
The Packers are out of the playoffs.
Los Angeles Rams
The Los Angeles Rams are a professional American football team that compete in the National Football League (NFL). The Rams franchise was founded in 1936 as the Cleveland Rams in the short-lived second American Football League before joining the NFL the next year. In 1946, the franchise moved to Los Angeles. The Rams franchise remained in the metro area until 1994, when they moved to St. Louis. The Rams franchise returned to Los Angeles in 2016.
The Rams play their home games at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, which they opened in 2020. The franchise is currently owned by Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, with Andrew Berry serving as general manager and Sean McVay as head coach.
The Rams have won three NFL championships, and are the only former AFL team to win an NFL title. They have also won one AFL championship, and one pre-AFL–NFL Championship title.

Since 2002, the Seahawks have played their home games at CenturyLink Field (formerly Qwest Field), located south of downtown Seattle. The Seahawks previously played home games in the Kingdome (1976–1999) and Husky Stadium (1994, 2000–2001).
