Who Did Best In The NFL Draft?

The NFL Draft is complete, and we now know which teams selected which players. But which teams really did the best?

Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns are a professional American football team based in Cleveland, Ohio. The Browns compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the American Football Conference (AFC) North division. The Browns play their home games at FirstEnergy Stadium, which opened in 1999.

Myles Garrett

With the first pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns selected Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett. Garrett is an athletic freak and was widely considered the best player in the draft. He has the potential to be a sack machine in the NFL and should make an immediate impact for the Browns.

Jabrill Peppers

The 6-foot-1, 213-pound Jabrill Peppers ran the 40-yard dash in 4.46 seconds at the NFL Scouting Combine, which was among the fastest times for a defensive back. His vertical jump of 37 inches and broad jump of 128 inches were also elite numbers.

Peppers was a do-it-all player at Michigan, where he lined up at linebacker, safety and even on offense as a running back and returner. He is expected to play safety in the NFL but could also see time as a slot corner and returner.

David Njoku

David Njoku (born July 10, 1996) is an American football tight end for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at the University of Miami, and was drafted by the Browns in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Early years
Njoku was born in Newark, New Jersey to parents of Nigerian descent. He attended Cedar Grove High School in Cedar Grove, New Jersey, where he played high school football for the Panthers. As a senior, he had 25 receptions for 546 yards and nine touchdowns. He was a second-team All-State selection and was named to the Star-Ledger’s Top 20 list for his senior season. He also competed in track & field as a thrower. In shot put, he recorded a top-throw of 15.07 meters (49-5½) at the Essex County Championships, where he placed 2nd. In discus throw, he recorded a personal-best throw of 45.72 meters (150-0) at the Panther Pride Invitational.[1]

Considered a three-star recruit by 247Sports.com, Njoku was listed as the No. 48 tight end in the nation in 2014.[2] He committed to play college football at Miami over offers from Boston College, Iowa State, Maryland, Rutgers, Temple, and Wisconsin.[3][4]

San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers had a great NFL draft. They got a lot of good players that will help them win games.

Reuben Foster

Reuben Foster was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in 2017. He was considered one of the best linebackers in the draft. He played college football at Alabama, where he was a two-time All-American and won the Butkus Award in 2016.

Solomon Thomas

The Stanford standout was considered one of the best prospects in the entire draft, and he didn’t disappoint with his performance in 2017. Thomas totaled 41 tackles, including four sacks, and he added an interception and three forced fumbles as well. He was named to the Pro Bowl as a rookie and was named a second-team All-Pro.

John Lynch

John Lynch was easily the best general manager in the NFL Draft. He got great value with his first pick, selecting OT Mike McGlinchey with the ninth overall pick. He then traded down and still got his guy in edge rusher Dante Fowler Jr. With his next two picks, Lynch drafted two of the best linebackers in the NFL in Leighton Vander Esch and Tremaine Edmunds. His final pick was another great value, as he took WR Calvin Ridley in the first round.

Chicago Bears

It’s official, the NFL Draft is complete and every team has their newest batch of hopeful future stars. So which team did the best? We take a look at the Chicago Bears. They had a great draft, picking up some very talented players.

Mitchell Trubisky

Mitchell Trubisky was drafted by the Chicago Bears as the 2nd overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Trubisky played college football at North Carolina. As a junior in 2016, he threw for 3,748 yards and 30 touchdowns. After the season, he decided to forgo his senior year and declare for the NFL Draft.

The Bears traded up from the 3rd overall pick to select Trubisky. He is expected to be the team’s starting quarterback in 2017.

Adam Shaheen

The Chicago Bears selected Adam Shaheen with the 45th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. The 6-6, 278-pound Shaheen was considered one of the best tight end prospects in the draft and was rated as a first-round talent by some analysts. He will be expected to contribute immediately as a pass catcher and blocker in head coach John Fox’s offense.

Eddie Jackson

In the 4th round of the 2017 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears selected safety Eddie Jackson out of Alabama. Jackson was drafted with the 112th overall pick.

Jackson had a very successful college career, winning two national championships with Alabama in 2015 and 2017. He was also named to the All-SEC first team in 2016 and 2017.

Jackson’s NFL career got off to a great start as he was named to the PFWA All-Rookie team in 2017. He had five interceptions and two touchdowns in his rookie season.

Jackson has continued to be a key member of the Bears’ defense, intercepting four passes in 2018 and three in 2019. He was also named to the Pro Bowl in 2018 and 2019.

Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars had the best draft out of any team this year. They were able to get the best player in the draft, Trevor Lawrence, with the first overall pick. With their second pick, they drafted a very good player in Travis Etienne. They also made some good picks in the later rounds.

Leonard Fournette

The Leonard Fournette selection at fourth overall in the 2017 NFL Draft was a bit of a surprise to some analysts and fans alike, as many projected the former LSU running back to be drafted later in the first round. The Jaguars, however, saw him as a player who could come in and provide an immediate impact on their offense. And that’s exactly what he did.

Fournette appeared in 13 games during his rookie season, rushed for 1,040 yards and nine touchdowns, and also added 36 receptions for 302 yards and a score. He finished second in the NFL in rushing behind only Kareem Hunt of the Kansas City Chiefs, and his 10 touchdowns were tied for seventh-most among all players.

The one negative with Fournette was his struggles to stay on the field, as he missed three games due to injury and was limited in others. When he was on the field, though, he proved to be everything the Jaguars hoped he would be when they drafted him. He’s a big, powerful runner who can break tackles and pick up chunks of yardage, and he has the ability to catch passes out of the backfield as well.

Fournette should be the Jaguars’ lead back again in 2018, and if he can stay healthy for a full season, there’s no reason to believe he can’t put up even bigger numbers than he did as a rookie.

Cam Robinson

With the 34th pick in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars selected Alabama Crimson Tide offensive tackle Cam Robinson.

Robinson was a three-year starter at left tackle for Alabama, and was a critical piece of an offense that won the National Championship in 2015. He was named a First Team All-American by the Football Writers Association of America and a Second Team All-American by the Associated Press in 2016.

Robinson has superb size and strength, and is a very good run blocker. However, he can be beaten by speed rushers off the edge and will need to improve his technique in pass protection at the NFL level. Overall, Robinson has the potential to be a very good starting offensive tackle in the NFL.

Dawuane Smoot

Dawuane Smoot was selected in the third round with the 68th pick in the 2017 NFL draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was the fifth defensive end to be drafted that year.

Smoot was considered a mid-round draft prospect by most analysts and scouts prior to the draft. He received an invitation to the NFL Scouting Combine, but decided to skip the event. On March 16, 2017, Smoot participated at Illinois’ pro day and performed all of the combine drills for scouts and team representatives from 27 NFL teams.

Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans had a great NFL draft. They addressed needs on both sides of the ball and got some very good players. They got a franchise quarterback in Marcus Mariota and a stud defensive lineman in Leonard Williams. They also got a great receiver in Amari Cooper. The Titans had a great draft and they will be a force to be reckoned with in the future.

Corey Davis

With the fifth overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans selected Corey Davis, a wide receiver out of Western Michigan.

Davis was considered one of the top prospects in the draft, and he fills a big need for the Titans. He gives them a true No. 1 receiver, something they’ve been lacking for years.

Davis is a big-bodied receiver (he’s 6-3, 209 pounds) with great hands and good speed. He’s a physical receiver who can make plays in traffic, and he should be a nice red-zone target for Marcus Mariota.

In his four years at Western Michigan, Davis caught 332 passes for 5,285 yards and 52 touchdowns. He had a monster senior season in which he caught 97 passes for 1,500 yards and 19 touchdowns.

The Titans are hoping Davis can have a similar impact in the NFL as another former Western Michigan receiver, Antonio Brown. Brown has become one of the best receivers in the league, and the Titans are hoping Davis can follow in his footsteps.

Adoree’ Jackson

Adoree’ Jackson was drafted by the Titans in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Jackson was considered one of the best cornerbacks in the draft, and he is expected to immediately contribute to the Titans’ defense.

Taywan Taylor

Taylor was drafted in the 7th round by the Titans and is expected to compete for the team’s starting kicking job.
