Njardvik Basketball Club was founded in 2006 by a group of passionate basketball enthusiasts The club has since then developed into one of the leading youth basketball clubs in Iceland. Njardvik’s teams have enjoyed success both in Iceland and internationally. The club’s U19 team has won the Icelandic championship four times, and the U16 team has won it three times. Njardvik has also won the Nordic Championship three times, and the Baltic League Championship once.

In recent years Njardvik has been focusing on developing its international activities. The club has participated in various tournaments in Europe, including the Barcelona National Tournament the Schio National Tournament and the Heraklion International Tournament. Njardvik has also played friendly matches against some of the best youth teams in Europe such as Real Madrid’s U18 team, FC Barcelona’s U18 team, and CSKA Moscow’s U18 team.
