How to Draw a Baseball Field Cartoon
Contents
This step by step tutorial shows you how to draw a baseball field cartoon. The example used is from a top view but you can draw it from a side view as well.
Decide on the composition of your Baseball Field cartoon.
Before you start drawing your Baseball Field cartoon, you’ll need to decide on the composition, or the basic layout, of the drawing. Will it be a bird’s eye view? A worm’s eye view? Something in between?
Once you’ve decided on the composition, sketch out the basic shape of the field. If you’re not sure how to do this, look at some reference photos for guidance. Then, start adding in the details of the field, like the bases, home plate pitcher’s mound, and so on.
When you’re finished with the basic details, it’s time to add some color. Again, reference photos can be helpful here. Once you’ve added color, you can start thinking about adding any final touches, like players or spectators.
Sketch out the basic outline of the Baseball Field
Start by sketching out the basic outline of the Baseball Field You can use a pencil or pen for this, but try to use a light touch so you can erase any mistakes easily. Once you have the basic outline down, start to add in the details of the field.
Draw in the details of the Baseball Field
On a large piece of paper, sketch out the rough outline of a Baseball Field
Start by drawing a large rectangle. This will be the infield. In the middle of the rectangle, draw a smaller rectangle. This is the pitcher’s mound. In front of the pitcher’s mound, draw a circle. This is home plate
Next, draw two dashed lines coming out from home plate These lines should be perpendicular to each other and they should intersect at first and third base. Draw two more dashed lines parallel to the first and third base lines These lines should be far enough away from the infield so that you can draw another big rectangle around them. This outer rectangle is the outfield.
In the outfield, draw three more circles. These are the bases. home plate should be in the middle, with first and third base on either side of it. Second base should be in the outfield, closer to first base than to third base.
Now you can start drawing in the details of the baseball field!
Add color to your baseball field cartoon.
Adding color to your baseball field cartoon is a great way to bring it to life and make it more realistic. Use a variety of colors to represent different parts of the field, such as the green of the grass, the brown of the dirt, and the white of the bases. You can also use colors to represent different elements of the game, such as the red stitching on a baseball.
Finish up your baseball field cartoon by adding any final details.
When you’re finished drawing the basic shapes of the baseball field it’s time to add any final details. You might want to add a few trees or other plants, a fence around the perimeter of the field, or perhaps some bleachers for spectators. Whatever you choose to add, make sure it’s in keeping with the overall style of your cartoon.
