Crochet’s no-hitter is the first by a Volunteer pitcher since 1971, when Jim Colborn tossed one against LSU. It’s also the first nine-inning no-hitter in school history.

Q: Logan, how did it feel to pitch a no-hitter?
A: It felt great. I’ve been working hard and it’s been my goal to pitch one this season. I’m just happy that I was able to do it and help my team win.
Q: What was working for you yesterday?
A: My fastball was really working well. I was able to throw it by hitters and get them to swing and miss. My curveball was also working well. I was able to throw it for strikes and get hitters to chase it out of the zone.
Q: How did you stay focused throughout the game?
A: I just tried to take it one pitch at a time and not think about the bigger picture. I knew that if I could do that, then the rest would take care of itself.
Highlights
On Tuesday, May 8, 2018, the Tennessee Volunteers baseball team’s pitcher, Garrett Wright, threw a no-hitter against the UT-Martin Skyhawks. This was the first no-hitter in Volunteer’s history.
Wright struck out 12 batters and only allowed two base runners during the course of the game. He faced 32 batters in total.
