American Football Conference

The American Football Conference (AFC) is one of the two conferences of the National Football League (NFL), the highest professional level of American football in the world. The AFC was created after the NFL merged with the American Football League (AFL) in 1970. It consists of 16 teams organized into four divisions, each of which has four teams.

Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens are a professional American football team based in Baltimore, Maryland. They compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the American Football Conference (AFC) North division. The Ravens were established in 1996, when Art Modell, who was then the owner of the Cleveland Browns, announced plans to relocate the franchise from Cleveland to Baltimore in 1995. As part of a settlement between Modell, the city of Cleveland, and the other NFL teams, Modell was required to leave the Browns’ history and records in Cleveland for a replacement team and replacement personnel that would take control in 1999. Houston Texans

The Houston Texans are a professional American football team based in Houston, Texas. The Texans compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the American Football Conference (AFC) South division. The team plays its home games at NRG Stadium, an outdoor stadium with retractable domes located in Houston’s NRG Park complex. The Texans first played in 2002 as an expansion team after Houston’s previous franchise, the Houston Oilers, moved to Nashville, Tennessee where they are now the Tennessee Titans. The team’s majority owner is Bob McNair.

The Texans have gone to the playoffs seven times in franchise history: in 2011, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019. In that timespan, they have won NFC South three times (2011-2012 and 2015-2016) and AFC South four times (2011-2012 and 2015-2016). They have also been to the Divisional Round three times and the AFC Championship Game once (in 2017).

Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts are a professional American football team based in Indianapolis, Indiana. They compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) South division. Since the 2008 season, the Colts have played their games in Lucas Oil Stadium. Previously, the team had played for over two decades (1984–2007) at the RCA Dome. Since 1987, the Colts have been mostly coached by Frank Reich and Chuck Pagano. The Colts have been a member club of the NFL since their founding in 1953 in Baltimore.

Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars are a professional football franchise based in Jacksonville, Florida. They are members of the South Division of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The Jaguars and the Carolina Panthers joined the NFL as expansion teams for the 1995 season. Since their inception, the Jaguars have played their home games exclusively at EverBank Field, located in downtown Jacksonville.

The team has had mixed success on the field, winning division championships in 1998 and 1999 (as members of the now-defunct AFC Central) but missing the playoffs from 2000 onwards. They were founded on August 14, 1959, and began play on September 10, 1960, as a charter member of the American Football League (AFL), and spent their first season in Los Angeles, before moving to San Diego in 1961. The Chargers joined the NFL as result of the AFL–NFL merger in 1970. Between 1995 and 2016, the team played their home games at Qualcomm Stadium.

The National Football Conference (NFC) is one of the two conferences of the National Football League (NFL), the highest professional level of American football in the world. The NFC was created on July 26, 1967, as part of the merger between the NFL and the American Football League (AFL).

Dallas Cowboys

The New York Jets are a professional American football team located in the New York metropolitan area. The Oilers won the first AFL Championship before joining the NFL as part of the AFL–NFL merger in 1970.
