List of WWE World Heavyweight Champions

The WWE World Heavyweight Championship is a professional wrestling world heavyweight championship created and promoted by the American professional wrestling promotion WWE on the SmackDown brand. It is one of two world titles in the WWE, alongside the WWE Universal Championship that was created for the RAW brand as a result of the 2016 Brand Extension. The current champion is Brock Lesnar, who is in his first reign.

The title was established under WWE’s then-parent company, World Wrestling Federation (WWF), in 1963 with Buddy Rogers becoming the inaugural champion. Since 2002, it has been vacant at least once. In its history, there have been a total of 70 different individual champions (not counting vacant periods), with John Cena having the most reigns at 16.

WWE considers Bruno Sammartino to have had the longest championship reign of all time at 2,803 days (more than seven years), as he held it for a second time from December 10, 1973 to April 30, 1977. The title has been won by 38 different wrestlers, and Lesnar being the youngest at age 25 when he won it for the first time in 2002. Only five wrestlers have won it on more than one occasion: Hulk Hogan (six times), Bret Hart (five times), Shawn Michaels (four times), The Rock (three times) and Triple H (three times). At 52 days, Edge has had the shortest reigning reign recognized by WWE – this was due to him vacating it on doctor’s advice after suffering an injury during his match with Kane at One Night Stand in 2008 where he won the title from The Undertaker under extreme rules conditions; if vacates are not counted then Brock Lesnar holds this record with 29 days following SummerSlam 2018 when Roman Reigns was forced to vacate it due to leukemia.

WWE Championship

The WWE Championship is a world heavyweight championship created and promoted by the American professional wrestling promotion WWE on the SmackDown brand. It is one of WWE’s original championships, dating back to 1963. The current champion is Drew McIntyre, who is in his first reign. AJ Styles is the most recent former champion, having won the title at WrestleMania 36.

List of WWE Champions

The WWE Championship is a world heavyweight championship created and promoted by the American professional wrestling promotion WWE, currently defended on their Raw brand. It is one of WWE’s original titles dating back to 1963, which means it is also one of the oldest still promoted championships in professional wrestling. The inaugural champion was “Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers. Since its inception, the title has undergone many name changes due to company name changes and restructuring, with the most recent being the WWE World Heavyweight Championship when WWE ceased using its full name in 2002.

In 2014 however, following the reintroduction of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship as a secondary title, it was moved back to exclusive usage on Raw with a new design, while remaining considered as one lineage of the original championship. The current champion is Drew McIntyre, who is in his second reign.

Since its inception, there have been 71 different individual champions overall – 63 heel (villainous) and 8 face (crowd favorite) – with John Cena having held it a record 11 times (10 times as a face and once as a heel). There have also been 50 reigns among 33 performers overall – 26 individual heel and 7 individual face – which are listed below in chronological order.

WWE Raw Women’s Championship

The WWE Raw Women’s Championship is a professional wrestling world championship created and promoted by the American professional wrestling promotion WWE on the Raw brand. It is one of WWE’s three primary women’s championships, along with the SmackDown Women’s Championship on the SmackDown brand and the NXT Women’s Championship on the NXT brand.

List of WWE Raw Women’s Champions

The WWE Raw Women’s Championship is a women’s professional wrestling championship created and promoted by the American professional wrestling promotion WWE on the Raw brand. It is one of two female titles in WWE, alongside the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship on the SmackDown brand. The current champion is Ronda Rousey, who is in her first reign.

The inaugural champion was crowned at WrestleMania 32 on April 3, 2016, when Charlotte Flair defeated Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks in a triple threat match. There have been a total of seven reigns shared among five wrestlers. Flair has the most reigns at three, while Banks and Lynch have each held the title twice. In August 2017, then-champion Flair was drafted to SmackDown as part of the WWE draft, thus vacating the title; Lynch won a tournament to become the inaugural champion on that brand at No Mercy later that month. At Elimination Chamber in February 2018, Alexa Bliss became only the second wrestler to win both women’s championships after she defeated Sasha Banks to win Raw’s women’s title; she retained both titles until losing one back to Banks five days later on Raw 25 Years. Nia Jax has had two unlawful reigns not officially recognized by WWE; therefore her first official reign began following any one of those two illegal rule breakages that gave her an opportunity to become champion before having it taken away from her as punishment for breaking said rules.

As of May 5, 2019, there have been seven official recognized champions who have had a combined 23 official recognized reigns – all between them – with three vacancies and one unlawful reign not officially recognized by WWE (as Jax won it via disqualification which does not normally award championships). The inaugural champion and record two-time champion Charlotte Flair (who also held both women’s titles at once until Bliss duplicated her feat) has held this title for a record combined 516 days (her first single reign lasting 192 days while her second single reign lasted 160 days) while Becky Lynch has held this title for a record single reign of 133 days (which is also the second longest single-reign as Flair holds that record). Alexa Bliss currently holds the record for most combined days as champion with 211 days (her first single reign lasting 56 days while her second single reign lasting 155 days); however if only considering Bliss’ first win over Bayley for this specific championship at Elimination Chamber 2018 then she would hold the record for shortest reigning undisputed champion ever with 27 seconds as she pinned Bayley immediately after being put through an announce table which gave Bliss an opportunity to be placed into position so Bliss could capitalize which led immediately into Bliss making Bayley submit to become undisputedRaw Women’s Champion for only 27 seconds until she was herself stripped minutes later due to being unable to compete..

Due to its lineage being descended from said lineage, theRaw Women’s Championship can also be referredto as “The Mae Young Classic Trophy”or “The Mae Young Classic Cup”.

It is one of two secondary titles in the WWE, along with the WWE United States Championship on the Raw brand. The current champion is Roman Reigns, who is in his second reign.

List of WWE Intercontinental Champions

The WWE Intercontinental Championship is a professional wrestling championship created and promoted by the American professional wrestling promotion WWE on the SmackDown brand. It is one of two secondary titles in the WWE, complementing the WWE Championship on Raw. The current champion is Big E, who is in his first reign.

WWE introduced the Intercontinental Championship on October 1, 1979, with Pat Patterson becoming the inaugural champion. The title quickly became regarded as one of wrestling’s most prestigious championships. As such, it often changed hands several times a year; typically as a result of cardiff matches or title defenses on pay-per-view events.

Following the introduction of brand extension in 2002, then-WWE Champion Brock Lesnar became exclusive to Raw, leaving SmackDown without a world championship. As a result, then-SmackDown General Manager Stephanie McMahon introduced the Intercontinental Championship as a second world championship for the brand. She stated that it had been “a long time coming” and that “Pat Patterson would be proud”. The first brand extension ended in 2011; following which both titles were once again unified until 2016 when SmackDown instituted the WWE World Championship as its primary title while keeping the Intercontinental Championship as its secondary title.

Throughout its history, this title has served as a springboard to push wrestlers towards main event status; indeed all but three men who have held this title have also held either WWE’s world heavyweight (now Universal) or primary tag team championship at some point in their careers (Chris Jericho being an exception as he has held both titles multiple times). In recent years,[when?] however, it has become less relevant due to power shifts within WWE and an overall decrease in importance of midcard championships in general. Consequently,[citation needed] many wrestlers have desired to move up to main event status without ever having won this particular championship.[citation needed]

The Intercontinental Championship was introduced into WCW through Ted Turner’s purchase of half of Jim Crockett Promotions (JCP). On June 10, 1991 at The Great American Bash when JCP debuted under Ted Turner’s control under their new name World Championship Wrestling (WCW), Sting defeated Larry Zbyszko for WCW’s version of the NWA World Television Championship which was immediately retired and replaced with WCW’s version of the NWA World Television Championship which had been previously used by JCP. Rick Rude became its first champion three weeks later on June 27 at Beach Blast defeating Sting via disqualification.[1] At Halloween Havoc 1991 Rude successfully defended his title against Ricky Steamboat but lost it back to him in a return match on November 19 edition of Saturday Night.[2] Rude regained it 13 days later at Clash of Champions XVII defeating Steamboat once again.[3][4][5] He then went on to hold it for another month before losing it back to Steamboat for his third and final reign following a victory on December 28 edition Superstars.[6][7][8]
