In January 2018, at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, Shawn Michaels returned to WWE for the first time in over eight years, when he emerged as the number one entrant in the men’s Royal Rumble match, lasting until he was eliminated by eventual winner, Shinsuke Nakamura. Two months later at WrestleMania 34, Michaels came out of retirement once again, this time teaming up with Triple H as DX, defeating The Brothers of Destruction (The Undertaker and Kane) in a tag team match.
