The different levels of competition at Barton
Heading to a Barton baseball game is the perfect way to spend a summer evening. Rockdale County’s very own semi-professional minor league team the barton bombers provide top-notch entertainment for those who love America’s pastime. But did you know that the bombers isn’t the only team at barton? In addition to the bombers, Barton is home to three other levels of competition.
The first level is amateur baseball These are teams made up of High School and college players who are looking to keep their skills sharp during the summer months. The games are less formal than those of the semi-pro bombers, but they’re every bit as exciting.
The second level of competition at Barton is JV wood bat. JV players are still honing their skills and refining their techniques. Games at this level are highly competitive, but also provide an opportunity for younger players to get experience at a higher level of play.
Finally, Barton is home to one of the most competitive amateur teams in the country: The Georgia Peaches. The peaches play in what is known as the “Shoulder Season”, from late August through September. Although they don’t receive as much attention as the bombers, the peaches are a force to be reckoned with on the diamond.
So whether you’re looking for a fun night out or a chance to see some top-Level Baseball make sure to head on down to Rufus M Jones field this summer!
