Beacon Baseball was founded in 2015 with the goal of providing an alternative to the traditional Little League model. Beacon Baseball: A League of Their Own- The Game

rules are simple: three innings, six players to a side, with everyone hitting and running the bases until the end of the inning. The running is important, because there are no walks in Beacon baseball—a “batter” earns the right to swing away by reaching first base safely. Fielding is also different: there are three “outs” per inning instead of the usual two, and no one throws the ball—each team has a “catcher” who collects the ball after each hit and returns it to the hitter.

The league is open to any Beacon student, and games are played on weeknights after school on one of the outdoor fields behind Main Building. Practices are held once a week, usually on Saturdays. Games are scheduled around other Beacon events so that as many people as possible can participate.
