The 2019 season of Bristol Blues baseball is just around the corner, and we can’t wait to see what our home team has in store! Here’s a look at the game schedule, along with results from last season.
The 2019 season runs from May 28th to September 1st. The Full Game schedule is as follows:
May 28th – vs. Plymouth Pilgrims – L 6-5

Meet the 2019 Bristol Blues: player profiles and stats
The Bristol Blues are a baseball team in the Futures Collegiate baseball league (FCBL) based in Bristol, Connecticut. The Blues play their home games at Muzzy Field, which opened in 1914 and seats 3,268 fans. The team has been owned by the City of Bristol since 1999.
The 2019 season is the Blues’ 9th season in the FCBL. The team will look to build on their success from 2018, when they finished the regular season with a 32-22 record and made it to the FCBL semifinals.
One of the keys to the Blues’ success last year was their strong pitching staff, which featured four All-Stars and led the league in ERA (3.42). The staff will be anchored again this year by returning All-Star Drew Strotman (Wake Forest University), who posted a 2.63 ERA in 2018.
The Blues will also have a solid core of hitters return from last year, led by All-Star third baseman Jagger Rusconi (University of San Diego). Rusconi was one of the top hitters in the league last season, batting .333 with 6 home runs and 32 RBIs. Other key returners include first baseman/outfielder Chris Leroux (College of Holy Cross), who hit .313 with 4 homers and 30 RBIs, and second baseman Max Ryerson (Trinity College), who batted .302 with 2 homers and 26 RBIs.
Bristol Blues ballpark: Fenway of the Future?
Fenway Park home of the Boston Red Sox is arguably the most iconic ballpark in Major League Baseball With its unique dimensions and history, Fenway has been emulated by many ballparks built in recent years The newest ballpark to draw comparisons to Fenway is Muzzy Field, home of the Bristol Blues.
Muzzy Field was built in 2014 and is located in Bristol, Connecticut. Like Fenway, Muzzy Field has a Green Monster style wall in left field and seating capacity of just under 4,000. The dimensions of the field are almost identical to those of Fenway Park
The Blues are a member of the Futures Collegiate baseball league a Summer League for collegiate players. Many of the players who suit up for the Blues are from nearby colleges like Yale and UConn.
The team has only been around for four seasons, but they have already made an impact in the community. In 2016, the Blues won the FCBL championship and were named Organization of the Year by the league.

The 2018 season: a recap
The Bristol Blues were a perfect 8-0 to start the season. The team’s success was due in part to their strong pitching staff, which had an ERA of just 2.38 through the first eight games. The offense was also clicking, as the Blues scored an average of 6.5 runs per game.

It’s been three years since the Bristol Blues came to town, and the team is gearing up for another season of baseball! But before they take the field again, let’s take a look back at their first season in town.
The Bristol Blues are a professional Baseball Team in Bristol, Connecticut. The team is a member of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL), and plays its home games at Muzzy Field.
The team’s inaugural season was in 2016, and they quickly became a fan favorite. The Blues went on to win the FCBL Championship that year, defeating the Worcester Bravehearts in the final game
Since then, the team has continued to be a success both on and off the field. In 2018, they won their second FCBL Championship, and in 2019 they were named Organization of the Year by minor league baseball (MiLB).
