What is Sling TV?

Sling TV is an American over-the-top internet television service that is owned by Dish Network. Unveiled on January 5, 2015, at the Consumer Electronics Show, the virtual multichannel video programming distributor aims to complement subscription video on demand services such as Netflix and Amazon Video by offering a selection of popular cable channels which can be streamed through smart TVs, digital media players and apps.

As of November 2018, the service is available in the United States. Sling TV offers two base packages: “Sling Orange” and “Sling Blue”. Customers can optionally supplement these packages with premium channel add-ons, notably HBO and NFL RedZone.

What Channels Does Sling TV Include?

SLING TV offers a la carte TV, which means you can pick and choose the channels you want. The packages shown below are just examples – you can mix and match any combination of channels in any package, or subscribe to additional la carte channels à la carte. You can also add premium channels to any package for an additional monthly fee.

The Sling Orange package includes ESPN, but not NFL Network or local channels. If you want NFL Network, you’ll need to get the Sling Blue package. For local channels, you’ll need to get an antenna if you live in a market where they’re available or subscribe to a live TV streaming service like Playstation Vue, YouTube TV or Hulu + Live TV that carries them in your market.

Does Sling TV Include NFL Network?

As of right now, Sling TV does not offer NFL Network as part of their channel lineup. They do, however, offer a number of other channels that might be of interest to football fans, such as ESPN, ESPN2, Fox Sports 1, and NBC Sports Network. So while you won’t be able to watch NFL Network on Sling TV at this time, you’ll still be able to catch plenty of other football action.
