Who is De Minaur?
Alex de Minaur is an upcoming tennis player from Australia. He is currently ranked number 24 in the world. De Minaur is only 19 years old and has already made a name for himself in the tennis world.
His background
Born in Sydney to Spanish parents, De Minaur’s family moved back to Spain when he was just a toddler. When he was eight years old, he started playing tennis and it quickly became obvious that he had a lot of potential. His family moved back to Australia when he was 10 so that he could train at the famed Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Florida. He turned professional when he was just 16 years old.
De Minaur has been on the radar of tennis fans for a few years now. He won the Junior French Open in 2016 and has been steadily climbing the rankings ever since. He reached a career-high ranking of #31 in 2019 and many experts believe that he has the potential to become a Top 10 player in the next few years.

Alex de Minaur (born 17 February 1999), is an Australian professional tennis player. He has a career-high ATP singles ranking of world No. 11, achieved on 5 August 2019. De Minaur has won four ATP Tour titles: two in Sydney (2019, 2020) and two at the Next Gen ATP Finals (2018, 2019).
De Minaur made his grand slam debut at the 2018 Australian Open, where he received a wildcard into the main draw. He went on to make the third round, before losing to Milos Raonic in five sets. At the 2018 French Open, de Minaur again received a wildcard into the main draw. He defeated experienced campaigner Stephane Robert in the first round before losing to Karen Khachanov in straight sets in the second round.
