Matt Lafleur’s playing career

Matt LaFleur played quarterback at Saginaw Valley State from 1998-2001, completing his degree in exercise science. He began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Central Michigan in 2002, before moving on to Northern Michigan as the wide receivers coach in 2003. LaFleur then had stops at Ole Miss (2004-05), Ashland University (2006) and Notre Dame (2007) before joining the Houston Texans as an offensive quality control coach in 2008. He was promoted to quarterbacks coach in 2010 and held that position for three seasons.

Matt Lafleur’s coaching career

Matt Lafleur’s coaching career began in 2008 as an offensive assistant for the Houston Texans. In 2010, he became the quarterbacks coach for the Washington Redskins. For the next two years, Lafleur served as the offensive coordinator for the University of Notre Dame. In 2013, he returned to the NFL as the quarterbacks coach for the Cincinnati Bengals. After one season with the Bengals, Lafleur became the tight ends coach for the Cleveland Browns. He held this position for two years before being hired by the Atlanta Falcons in 2016 to serve as their offensive coordinator. In 2018, Lafleur was hired by the Green Bay Packers to be their head coach.

Why Matt Lafleur Didn’t Play In The NFL

Matt Lafleur didn’t play in the NFL because he wasn’t good enough. He wasn’t drafted and he never played a down in the league. He’s now the head coach of the Green Bay Packers, one of the most prestigious franchises in the NFL.

Lack of size

At 6’0″, 203 pounds, Matt LaFleur was considered too small to play in the NFL. He was not invited to the NFL Scouting Combine and was not selected in the NFL Draft. He did have a tryout with the New Orleans Saints, but was not signed to a contract.

Lack of athleticism

Matt Lafleur has never played in the NFL. He was not drafted out of high school or college and has never been signed as a free agent by an NFL team. Lafleur did have a brief stint in the Arena Football League (AFL) with the Milwaukee Mustangs in 2002, but he was released before the season began.

The reason Lafleur has never played in the NFL is largely due to his lack of athleticism. At 6-feet tall and just 200 pounds, Lafleur was simply too small to compete at the highest level of professional football. He also wasn’t particularly fast or strong, two other important attributes for success in the NFL.

While Lafleur’s lack of size and athleticism prevented him from having a successful career as a player, it hasn’t stopped him from finding success in other areas of football. He’s currently the offensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers, one of the most successful teams in the NFL over the past decade.

Lack of experience

The simple answer to this question is no, Matt Lafleur did not play in the NFL. He does have experience playing football at the college level, but he was never drafted into the NFL and never played for an NFL team.

Lafleur did have a brief stint with the Buffalo Bills in 2009, but he was released before the start of the regular season and never got a chance to play in a game.

So why didn’t Matt Lafleur play in the NFL? There are a few reasons.

First, he was never drafted into the NFL. This means that no team saw enough potential in him to offer him a contract.

Second, even though he did have some experience playing football at the college level, he didn’t have much (if any) experience as a coach. And since he was never drafted into the NFL, he didn’t have any connections that could help him get a coaching job with an NFL team.

Third, and perhaps most importantly, Matt Lafleur simply wasn’t good enough to play in the NFL. There’s no shame in that – there are only a handful of people in the world who are good enough to play professional football at the highest level. Matt Lafleur just wasn’t one of them.
