He played college basketball for the Seton Hall Pirates and was a second-team All-American as a junior in 1996. He was drafted in the second round of the 1996 NBA Draft by the New Jersey Nets.

High school career

Shaheen Rashaun Holloway (born February 16, 1978) is an American former professional basketball player and current assistant coach of the Seton Hall Pirates men’s basketball team. Born in Paterson, New Jersey, Holloway played high school basketball at St. Anthony High School, where he was part of threeParade All-American teams. As a senior in 1995–96, he averaged 18.4 points, 8.1 assists and 4.8 steals per game, leading St. Anthony to a 32–0 record and the No. 1 ranking in the USA Today Super 25 poll.[1][2] He was named co-MVP of the 1996 McDonald’s All-American Game,[3] alongside Kobe Bryant,[4] and was also selected to play in the 1996 Nike Hoop Summit.[5]

Holloway played college basketball for Seton Hall University.[6] As a freshman in 1996–97, he started all 31 games for the Pirates,[7] averaging 10.6 points, 3.9 assists and 2.1 steals per game,[8] and was named Big East Rookie of the Year.[9][10] In his sophomore season, he helped lead Seton Hall to an NCAA Tournament berth.[11][12] As a junior in 1998–99, he averaged 12.6 points per game.[13][14]

In his senior season in 1999–2000, Holloway averaged 10.4 points per game.[15][16] He finished his collegiate career as Seton Hall’s all-time leader in assists (692).[17][18]

College career

Shaheen Rashaun Holloway (born September 29, 1975) is an American former professional basketball player. He played collegiately for Seton Hall University. As a senior, he earned Big East Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Year and was a third-team All-American.

Following his collegiate career, Holloway was drafted in the 1996 NBA draft by the Milwaukee Bucks with the 24th overall pick. He appeared in only 17 games for the Bucks over two seasons before being waived. Holloway then played professionally in Turkey and Venezuela.

Professional career

Shaheen Holloway attended Seton Hall University, where he played college basketball for the Seton Hall Pirates from 1996 to 2000. He was named the Big East Rookie of the Year in 1996, and was a two-time All-Big East selection, earning first team honors in 1999 and second team honors in 2000. He was also named to the Associated Press All-American Honorable Mention team in 2000. In his four seasons at Seton Hall, Holloway helped lead the team to four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances.

Following his college career, Holloway was selected by the New Jersey Nets with the 24th overall pick in the 2000 NBA draft. He played two seasons with the Nets, averaging 2.6 points and 1.6 assists per game. He also played professionally overseas in China and Italy.
