Vanderbilt’s Win Against Texas
Vanderbilt stunned Texas with a 5-run ninth inning to come away with a 9-8 victory in the College World Series on Tuesday night. It was a wild game that saw Vanderbilt blow an early lead, then rally late to take the lead, only to see Texas tie it back up in the bottom of the ninth. But the Commodores wouldn’t be denied, as they scored two more runs in the top of the 10th to seal the win.

Vanderbilt’s Pitching
In their game against Louisville, Vanderbilt had great pitching which ultimately led to their victory. Tyler Brown was on the mound for the first six innings and gave up just one run. The combination of strong pitching from both Brown and Ruppenthal led to Vanderbilt’s victory over Louisville.
Vanderbilt’s Hitting
Vanderbilt had a great game against Louisville yesterday, with some amazing hits by our batters. Our left fielder, sophomore Julian Infante, hit a solo home run in the first inning to give us the lead. Then, in the second inning, junior Connor Kaiser tripled to bring in two more runs. And in the third inning, senior Jeren Kendall hit a ground-rule double that scored another two runs. Vanderbilt’s batters were on fire yesterday!
Unfortunately, Vanderbilt’s pitching wasn’t quite as strong as our hitting. We gave up four runs in the fourth inning and five more in the seventh. In the end, Louisville won the game 9-4.
It was still a great game to watch, and we’re proud of our team for their amazing hits!
