In 1960, following their final season in Washington, D.C., owner Calvin Griffith moved the franchise to Minnesota, where it was renamed as the Minnesota Twins. The Twins played their home games at Metropolitan Stadium until 1981 when they moved indoors to the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome for twenty years; their last two seasons there were played under conditions of partial roof collapse due to heavy snowfall accumulation on inflatable Teflon-coated Fiberglas fabric panels covering Metrodome’s open upper deck
