Does St Louis Have A Nfl Football Team?
Does St Louis have a nfl football team? This is a question that many people have been asking lately.
The Rams
The Rams were a professional football team that played in the National Football League (NFL) from 1936 to 1945, and again from 1946 to 1994. The franchise was based in Chicago from 1936 to 1945, and in Los Angeles from 1946 to 1994. They played their home games at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum from 1946 to 1979, and at Anaheim Stadium from 1980 to 1994.
The Rams began play in 1936 as the Cleveland Rams, based in Cleveland, Ohio. They moved to Los Angeles in 1946 after one season in Miami. The Rams franchise remained in the Los Angeles area until 1994, when they moved to St. Louis, Missouri. Five seasons later, they returned to Los Angeles.
The Rams were not originally part of the NFL when it was founded in 1920; they joined 10 years later as part of a merger with the American Football League (AFL). The team played its first ever game against the New York Yankees on September 28th, 1930; the Yankees won 7-3. The Rams’ first NFL game came on October 12th, 1936, against the Philadelphia Eagles; the Eagles won 21-0.
The Cardinals
The Cardinals are a professional football team based in Glendale, Arizona. They compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s National Football Conference (NFC) West division. The Cardinals were founded as the Morgan Athletic Club in 1898, and are the oldest continuously run professional football team in the United States. The Cardinals play their home games at State Farm Stadium, which opened in 2006 and is located in Glendale.
The team was established in Chicago in 1898 and was a charter member of the NFL in 1920. Along with the Chicago Bears, the club is one of two NFL charter member franchises still in operation since the league’s founding. (The Green Bay Packers were an independent team until they joined the NFL in 1921.) The team has won two NFL championships – in 1925 and 1947 – while qualifying to play in 19 other NFL playoffs, most recently in 2015.
The 49ers
The 49ers, short for the San Francisco 49ers, are a professional American football team located in the San Francisco Bay Area. They compete in the National Football League as a member of the NFC West division.
The Seahawks
The Seahawks began play in 1976 as an expansion team, and joined the NFL as part of an AFC-NFC merger in 2002. The Seahawks are owned by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen and are currently coached by Pete Carroll. Since 2002, the Seahawks have played their home games at CenturyLink Field in downtown Seattle. The Seahawks have won 10 division titles and three conference championships (1980, 2005, 2013). They are the first and only team to appear in three consecutive Super Bowls (2005, 2006, 2007).
The Chiefs
The Chiefs are a professional American football team based in Kansas City, Missouri. The Chiefs compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) West division. The team was founded in 1960 as the Dallas Texans by businessman Lamar Hunt and was a charter member of the American Football League (AFL). In 1963, the team relocated to Kansas City and assumed their current name. The Chiefs joined the NFL as a result of the AFL–NFL merger in 1970. The team is valued at over $2 billion. Hunt’s son, Clark, serves as chairman and CEO. While Rob Sherman is the general manager and head coach Andy Reid works as the head coach.
The Chargers
In January of 2016, the Chargers announced their relocation from San Diego to Los Angeles. This move came shortly after the Rams had announced their own relocation from St. Louis to Los Angeles. As a result, the Chargers are currently the only NFL team in Los Angeles.
The Raiders

The Raiders compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) West division.
