UVM may have a baseball team in the future
UVM may have a baseball team in the future, but as of right now, there is not an active team. The school has been trying to gauge student interest in starting up a team and has been in talks with the America East Conference (which UVM is a part of) about the possibility.
Starting a Division 1 baseball program is no small feat – it would require a significant amount of money to build a proper facility and to pay for the necessary equipment and travel expenses. Right now, it seems that there is not enough interest or financial support to make starting a team feasible. However, this could change in the future – if enough students express an interest in having a team, UVM may eventually relent and start up a program.
