How the league works

The Greater Cincinnati Basketball League is a recreational basketball league for adult men and women. The league is divided into two divisions, the men’s division and the women’s division. Each division is further divided into four conference, each containing four teams. The teams in each conference play each other team in their conference twice during the regular season once at home and once away. The top two teams in each conference advance to the playoffs, which are single-elimination.

The league is divided into two divisions, the East and West, which are further divided into sub-divisions. Each team is guaranteed to play 8 regular season games, followed by a single elimination tournament. The top two teams from each division will advance to the GCBL Championship game

The league, which consists of teams from around the Cincinnati area, has been forced to cancel its 2020 season due to the pandemic.

The league is hopeful that it will be able to return in 2021, but its future beyond that is uncertain.

The league’s President, Joe Schoenbaum, said that “we’re just taking it one day at a time.”

The league is made up of 10 teams, each consisting of 12-15 players. Players range in age from 18-35, and come from all different backgrounds. Some have played Division I college basketball while others have never played organized basketball before.

The GCBL plays a 20-game Regular Season schedule, followed by a single-elimination tournament to crown a champion. The season runs from April-August, with games being played on weeknights and weekends at various locations around Greater Cincinnati.
