In 2006, Brees suffered a shoulder injury that limited him to 10 games. He still managed to throw for 2,423 yards and 15 touchdowns. The Chargers finished 14-2 and made it to the AFC Championship game, where they lost to eventual Super Bowl champion New England Patriots again.
