At first glance, this may seem like a lot, but when you compare it to the nearly 100 teams that have competed in the NFL over the years, it’s actually a pretty small percentage.
So which teams have never made the playoffs? Well, surprisingly, there are still quite a few. As of 2019, the Arizona Cardinals, Houston Texans, Detroit Lions, Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills have all never made an appearance in the playoffs.
There are also a few teams that have only made it to the playoffs a handful of times. The Jacksonville Jaguars and Carolina Panthers have only been to the playoffs six times each, while the Cincinnati Bengals have only made it eight times.
